His been passed by Maynard, Ramsay, Sharanberg**, Howe if he plays down back. to get something you need to give something and he is one that has " some " value.

I think the club acknowledged this last year by changing his role to a forward. He played well at VFL level in this role, but was unsighted at AFL level.

He is a good mark and kick, so could be handy forward. I just think he is best suited as a defender, but he just won't cut it in that role in our side. So I see no problem with floating him around.

There's no way GC are going to involve pick 8 in a trade for Witts.
they have stated that they don't won't picks so Witts and our pick 25 tbh honest is around the mark. given the " Experts" are suggesting witts is worth a pick in the late teens to early 20's

it is a consensus that it is a much stronger and deeper draft, so it will be much harder to prize out 1st and 2nd round picks in comparison to last year where clubs just didn't value them outside the top 10 or so.
That's not necessarily true. From what I've heard the top 10 or so is a cut above but then it's pretty even from 10-30. The only reason to try to push up the order in that range is if you're targeting a specific player. There could we be clubs out there willing to do the type of deal the dogs did last year exchanging pick 11 for 21 and 22 from memory.

fyfe?

are we paying up on mayne to add a FA compo pick to freo for a fyfe trade?

fa pick plus williams and multiple picks?

all this talk about clearing cloke's wage cant be because we have cap issues in 2017.

Ramsay played 5 good games and is now coming back from an ACL
Schaz is coming off 2 ACL's
Throw in Sinclair who spends more time off the park than on it, and Williams who seems to be heading home (either this year or next)

Hardly think we should be offloading Oxley based on the above?

But he ultimately needs to ok the floating. I think sometimes we forget that this is not NBA2K17.

Cloke to Dogs for 59
Unders, but sounds like best we’ll get.

Williams + 43 to Rich for 2017 2nd + 60
Values Williams at Pick 33 if Richmond finish 14th next year. Pick 43 handy for Tigers, looks likely to be their 3rd pick this year.

Witts + 2017 1st to GC for 8 + 40
Think GC would go for this – can’t see them using all of their high picks at draft / in trades so probably happy to move some points back a year.

Frost + 61 to Bris for 2017 3rd
Brisbane interested in late picks for academy players, future picks useful to us if trading with GWS. Values Frost at Pick 47 if Bris finish 17th next year.

25 + Rich 2017 2nd + Bris 2017 3rd to GWS for 16 + 51 + WHE
Values Hoskin-Elliott at Pick 27 if Rich finish 14th and Bris 17th next year. Like GC, think they’ll be happy to move some points back a year as a lot of high picks this year, with more likely to come in and they won’t be bringing many (or any) players in through trades.

Draft Picks: 8, 16, 40, 51, 59, 60… Logue, Battle, Brown, Daicos.
If all that happens you are a genius.

My eyes see 8, 16 Logue and Battle that's a win

I am going to miss Witts.:(
Seriously though, he is one player that I really wish well at his new club and think that he is worth a pick in the 30's.
You know with our luck, Witts goes, stars ofcourse, Grundy gets hurt :(

I'd love love love to keep both the big boys, but alas it won't be alas :(

We are better holding next years 1st rounder as it is a draft rich with KPP stocks.
Do understand this point but would prefer to take 2 of the best 3 or 4 KPPs (with other teams focussed on mids) from this draft and get an extra year of development in to them, to getting maybe the 5th or 6th best KPP next year. Just the way I would go, understand the other point of view.

Something is cooking?
Can you smell what the Rock is cooking?

Still have Maynard, Langdon and Howe ahead of Oxley even with all the players you listed out, which is unlikely, so yes, offloading Ox would be fine.

It's about unlocking value, no point in keeping someone on the twos purely as a backup if you can get a decent return on them. I think cox is adequate backup, I don't see him as a forward.

Fair points ofcourse.
Hence my lament.
That said, I can see Cox being ok or even better than ok up forward.
Obvious outrageous height.
Kicks simple and straight, stretches defences.

If he got say 33 goals or 1 1/2 goals per game, he'd be some sort of pest to backmen.

More kinky than sexual....a lettuce leaf?
Ignore the lettuce leaf comment.

"My nickname is rocket"
Followed by
"My colleague needs a rocket up them"

Yikes.

That return would have to be a minimum, he's of no value once the ball hits the deck.

I agree. Unfortunately I think that sort of return is unlikely.

Expectation is he improves.
He's not Paul Salmon yet.
Agree he's really our second tall back up at this stage.

The two weapons he does have forbsomeone so new to the game is
Height
Kicking straight (keeps it simple, amazing when that happens)

Sorry maybe I have missed something but Witts and our 2017 first rounder (lets assume pick 10) for GC pick 8 this year and their pick 40. That doesnt value Witts very highly at all. Thats circa pick 32. Maybe I have misinterpreted.

Maybe a slight readjustment would be we get their pick 8 this year and give them Witts and our 2nd round from either this year or next year. Cant imagine they will give 8 up as it will have currency in landing them an A grade player or young talent. My money on pick 24 this year but trying to get into that top 10 would be fantastic.

Also be mindful that by the time academy selections come in those selections around 40 onwards get pushed back a lot and therefore the value diminishes. That's important for CFC as they will need to be confident they have enough otherwise 2017 selections start to get impacted.

Not sure if I had 8 & 16 that Logue and Battle would be the two but very good types nonetheless. I think the first 7 will be roughly;

1 - McCluggae
2 - McGrath
3 - Bowes
4 - English
5 - Taranto
6 - Brodie
7 - SPS

That leaves Scrimshaw, Bolton, Florent, Logue and Marshall so would be close. Be good to have a pick there!

We're so acclimatised to terrible kicking that seeing someone kick straight at goal is a shock! One of the (many) reasons Moore is so exciting.

Marshall would be awfully tempting if available at 8.
