1980? 43 years ago and a flag year - also standing room where they crammed incredible numbers in.

We all remember you went missing for 20-30 years over the course of the nineties and noughties ;)
Hmmmm Richmond 3 flags in four years, Floggingwood 3 flags in 65 years. You do the math.

But the pies don't bring it for 4 qtrs either, Port Adelaide were next level bad but yet out scored them in the third qtr.

I don't know why most are already throwing in the towel, it reminds me off Round 4 2019 TBH when most on this board had already conceded to Port Adelaide after we had been easily defeated by the pies and giants in rounds 2 and 3.
I'm not throwing in the towel, just saying we will need to bring the pressure to beat em.

And the audacity to call me dumb :tearsofjoy:
Are you loost?

McRae said Mihocek will probably miss. Ginnivan coming back through VFL.
Tom Mitchell battling back soreness but will play.

Key forward Mihocek was subbed out of the Magpies' 71-point thrashing of Port Adelaide last round.

"He's going to have to improve a little bit to be available," McRae said.

"There was a bit of splitting of the skin there and stitches required so we will have to wait and see but he's not ruled out."

Gotta love the Pies fans all up and about in March. No matter what happens it all means zip until September, as Pies have been choking in September for best part of 65-years and the Pie fans know it.

They even knew coming into finals in 2022 after winning basically every single close game in H&A they’d lose close finals. They simply knew deep in their hearts it would happen - and it did…. twice.

I wonder what glorious finals choke awaits in 2023? Lose another unloseable PF as in 2019? Lose a GF after being 5 goals to zip up against an interstate team missing 3 x AA’s?

Whatever it is, it’s bound to be glorious viewing.

He's due for a goal. His disposal has been pretty poor so far. If he tidied that up he'd be getting talked up as one of the best players in the comp so far.
He went at 64% v Crows which is around the mark and 56% for game one which is sub par. So he's at 50% passmark in my eyes.

Yeah but when you get it 28 times in the midfield and your team kicks over 100 points you should be having a lot more than 3 score involvements. Didn't have many r1 either. I think he's generally a pretty good user but hasn't found his range in the first 2 rounds. Plenty of room for improvement.

Wet weather aside, Collingwood isn't that bothered by tall forwards, they pressure so well between the arcs that forward-50 entries won't often be great against them. And they rebound with speed. We cannot afford to play all of Lynch, Riewoldt and Ryan.

- It's rough, but we can't play Ryan this week. Yes he kicked 3 goals, but he also only had 5 possessions. Sooner or later (likely sooner), 5 possession games will yield him 0.0 rather than 3.0, and that's something you just can't afford to carry. He offers no forward pressure and if indeed it's wet then he won't get near it. I'm all for him in general, but Riewoldt still offers more.

- Miller should come in to replace Grimes, and Grimes can replace Broad. Miller is quick and is also the perfect relief ruck, he'll kill Cox around the ground.

- Dusty, Hopper and Short will hurt, so we simply have to play best available to cover them. Cumberland despite his crap VFL game. He's a step-up type, he'll be better in the AFL. Ross for Hopper, and Sonsie for Short as we just need to get him in, despite his lack of preseason.

If it was me...

OUT: Broad (susp), Dusty (inj), Hopper (inj **** after two games), Short (inj), Ryan (omit, stiff)
IN: Miller, Cumberland, Ross, Sonsie, Clarke

Grimes, Miller, Young
Vlastuin, Balta, Baker
McIntosh, Graham, Pickett
Bolton, Riewoldt, Clarke
Cumberland, Lynch, Rioli jnr

Nankervis, Prestia, Taranto

Rioli, Cotchin, Ross, Sonsie

In Hoppers defence (in case i am reading it correctly), he didn't break down. He was pretty damn stiff and lucky he didn't do his knee.
