Our key forward set up certainly is a huge concern if we are to be a serious contender.

It just appeared we had no clear attacking plan today ( from TV)

Will be very interested to hear from the boys when they get home from the ground to see what they have to say.

How do we get Clokey and Jack ( especially) more involved??
Ideally, move the ball quicker and narrower.

Slow movement along the wing is the worst way to get your KP players into the game to be honest.

That said, this won't happen. Wouldn't hurt to see some effort on their part though.

Bombing the call doesn't help either. I cant remember seeing one of our forwards hit on the lead inside the 50, whereas it seemed Melbourne could do it at ease.

Its not as if we don't have guys who can kick now....

Just when you thought last week was the beginning of a new dawn with a far superior game plan than last year, today for some reason Collingwood went back to their old ways. The players today put in a pathetic display, but I blame the coaching more than them. MM got his pants pulled down by Bailey, was absolutely outcoached. Melbourne to their credit stuck to their game plan of moving the ball down the corridor and implemented it perfectly without much resistance by the Woods. Collingwood hierachy stuck by their game plan of the boundary, and the problem with that is it is great when it's working, but no plan B by MM when things don't work out.

People say we needed to defend the corridor, what they have to realise is the majority of players aren't the most intelligent or innovative and need to be told what to do like robots, and today MM didn't tell them to use or defend the corridor. So like a deer in the headlights, whenever we had the ball at half back or the wing, the blinkers came on. Many a time I saw a player or 2 in the corridor by themselves, but they wouldn't even be looked at, instead we would and kick to a player 30 metres down the line with a player on his ass.

We will be thereabouts again this year but won't take the next step playing the same old crap we have the last few years.

Exciting game, definetly not what i expected, well done to melbourne, if it was anyone but collingwood i definetly would of been cheering for you guys to get up.

I don't want to hear about collingwood and the umpires conspiring against melbourne, the umpiring was rubbish both ways.

Was it just me or were the foxtel commentary team barracking (not just showing bias, i mean barracking) for melbourne?? Dwayne Russell is a git.

They were barracking like South Australians.

It was bad watching the play, but sickening to hear the commentary

I couldn't blame any "neutral" who barracked for Melbourne today, there were brave and deserved some respect.

But one thing, WE WILL NOT PLAY THAT BADLY AGAIN THIS YEAR.

We were coming off a 6 day break in our 2nd hot game in a row, with several key players out, and with MM playing "silly buggers" early.

Mick started Swan at half back, Pendles on the bench and Didak on the wing, which to me meant we had no talent in the middle at all.

I think it was just one of those days every club has from time to time when you just have an "off day".

Positives were all the young mids, Pendles, Thomas, Beams, Sidebottom and Wellingham, and the fact when we needed to in the last 5 minutes, we lifted.

Good sides win games when they play bad, and we did that today.

A game I will forget about largely, although my critisicm of the team would be simply that we won't win a flag with Anthony, Cloke and Fraser as our 3 talls up forward.

Good teams still find a way to win even though playing poorly, we did that today so im still happy.
Best: Thomas, Pendles, Beams.

Also ive never seen so many missed free kicks by the umpires today.
