Hate to say it but Pedlar starting to look like another waste of a first rounder. Just can't stay on the park. He's never going to develop the fitness base required for AFL if things keep going like this.
It's a concern he is spending more time injured than playing.

He needs the Burgess Midas touch.

We really needed Pedlar to work out too. Our midfield is garbage. We badly need to be able to fast-track any mids drafted in the first round and get 50 games into them asap. We'll forever be treading water with our current setup.

It is year 2 and it's not as if he hasn't been playing any games.
He was nowhere near it fitness wise when called up last year. Then he hurt his ankle and had a shoulder reco at the end of the season. He makes it through most of preseason and now he's done a hammy. It just feels like an endless cycle of taking one step forward, two steps back.

I'm not putting a line through him btw. Just saying it's going to be a very slow burn with this kid.

12 months ago we got belted in our JLT game vs Port at Noarlunga and it looked like we'd be anchored to the bottom of the table for a decade. That was a time to be depressed.

Port have regressed. We have improved. Markedly. Pedlar tweaks a hammy and it's melt city. He hasnt even had a scan yet and it's the first week in March folks.

We took no chances with our best player (Dawson). Be glass half empty if you want but I liked what i saw. Today to re-enforces we're on the right track.

Thought they played well.

Forward 50 entry is deplorable and our 50 gets very crowded. Need Hinge, Dawson, Schoenberg as designated kickers into the 50. Even Davis as he has nice disposal (thought he was good again).

Laird being out of the aide is a good thing, means more of Berry, Schoe, Dawson combos in there.

Umpires - if you want to curb abuse teach them how to do their job properly AFL. There should be a show each week to assess the umpiring in each game and giving them a score.

He’s a gutless shirker..

Neary all his possessions are bruise free and half his goals are joe the goose’s..

Massively overrated.

Butters is ten times the player Rozee is..

And the pricks have got a good one with that Jones lad who runs off half back for em..
Got an absolute football lesson from Brown today. Glad to see Luke has a new Port player to dominate now that Gray is coming to an end.

Cook was disappointing last week, but I definitely see a future for him.

However, he is 1.87m... I want us to find a taller 3rd type. Worrell is the one I would like to see us give a decent go.
Isn't Fritsch a similar height? But plays taller.

We're tall because the forward strategy is to drop the ball on heads.
Yep..
Its literally astounding that people here are blaming our forwards for not being able to take a heap of marks!..

Its almost as if they must watch a different game!

The delivery into our forward line 99 times out of 100 is ****n atrocious.. yet a fair few here go “gee, it would be good if our forwards could take some marks!..

We will likely end up bottom this year if our midfield doesnt change… the only thing that might save us from it is home ground advantage and a couple of freak wins where our opponents didnt turn up on the day…

He had a shoulder last year (we drafted him with this injury) and a hammy today, hardly alarm bells

Sadly, I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see Seed ever playing again. Apparently he was running laps this week and just started power chucking. The poor bloke is not well at all.
If thats the case.. he definitely has to retire.. for the sake of the rest of his life.

He simply cannot risk a return to footy and the potential for one more head knock.

Time to hang up the boots seeds.. the rest of your life is far too important to risk just to get 1 or 2 more seasons of footy in.

Be utterly stupid to try and carry on.

190cm, he was 188cm when measured at the Draft combine.

Bloody shame after his best season at AFL level and an AA squad nomination, thought he had another couple of A grade seasons in him left. As you said though, his long term health is most important though and spewing from a concussion that happened 4 months ago is bloody worrying.

Mostly agree but do we bomb it in long because the mids suck or our tall forwards don’t make enough leads?

Or both?

Todays game made me think maybe Luko could make significant difference if he’s able to successfully transition forward.

We will be playing Dawson in the midfield, mostly off a wing.

We are not going to use him as a forward.

We do need to develop a Lynch type replacement though. Gollant got a go today, but where is Worrell?
Yeah like we played Hinge at half back today...

Dawson was drafted as a forward and played quite a bit forward for the Swans so you might have another surprise coming your way, he's another utility and can be used anywhere between the half back/half forward arcs.

Really? I don't like Rozzee but he did get 23 possessions with a disposal efficiency rate of 83% and 2 goals - whilst being dominated???

And you were dribbling on about Chayce Jones playing well??? WTF.
