Round Four - At Home vs the Royals

​

Another week, another moral victory.

Round four saw us host the Gold City Royals in what was possibly the most amicable and good-natured match threads we are ever likely to be a part of. The Royals are good people despite the scandal and inbreeding and whatnot, and we responded by having twenty (20) of us in the match thread!

The game went as per schedule. The visitors kick away early in rainy conditions, we get a couple back, they get heaps and then win. The 'random' part of the sim's activity was giving us a few cheap goals in the final quarter to give a glimmer of hope, which ultimately ends up unfulfilled.

The Bears had a bye and the Phoenix drew so we're still one of three teams without a win, and we're at the bottom of those three teams. We'll get one eventually, but even if we don't we'll still shitpost like absolute champs!.

Winger FootyGuy13 showed the sort of form that led him to a maiden Frankston Rover Medal last season with an outstanding 24 disposals, 9 marks, 4 tackles and two goal effort to have a shout for BOG while Agent93 & ruckdog were the other standout mids. Mofra & Piggy Smalls were the best of the defenders, while the returning Lord_Flashheart tried to stem the tide after getting sent to full back. Up front Dinsdale (4) & Snuffaluphagus (2) joined FG as multiple goal kickers, TheInjuryFactory & Purple7x08_24 joined Dinsdale in having kicked at least one goal for each game they've played this season, while Agent93 Mesc & TubbsFarquhar each kicked their first goal of the season.





SBYM still leads the team in disposals, DT & Exie points, pantskyle still has the most kicks and frees for, Mofra has still conceded the most frees and Dinsdale is the first Wazza to hit double figures in goals.

Plenty of season highs in posting along with some returning favourites made for a great week, and one which made an impression on our opposition. You just love to see it!!

3. Tonga Bob as good as equalised in the hitouts department while his 19 disposals and a goal showed his willingness to work hard around the ground. Felt he beat his counterpart greycrow on the day.
2. Dinsdale 4 goals from 4 kicks, this bloke just can't miss and makes the most of his chances each and every game. Watch out when he gets more of the ball - Buddy's "THIRTEEN!" will be but a distant memory when he does.

Round Five - Away vs The Furies

What an eventful week Wazzas! So much happened that I'm not quite sure where to start, and even then I don't even know how to explain half of it! But being the consummate professional that I am, I'll do my absolute best.

We travelled to the hippodrome to face the Furies. Enough has been said about our 'hosts', so I'll save my words for things that have relevance. Like celebrating Whore Tree Day last Wednesday, the return of The Half Back from a couple of seasons wandering in the wilderness, and the qooty.

The game had a familiar beginning to it, with us conceding the first three goals. We managed to steady the ship from there, and even led momentarily when Purple7x08_24 kicked his second goal in the second quarter before going into the main break 9 points down. Three early goals in the third saw us retake the lead which we held for the rest of the game thanks to a 12 goal to 7 second half, running out 25 point victors. The streak is over, Owen's kicked to the kerb for another season, and we beat the milestone millstone to celebrate The Half Back 300th in style; but if you think the sim was done with sh*thousing us then think again - the other two winless teams were given victories as well so we remain stone motherless on the ladder. Didn't stop us from singing the song at the end of the game though, with Agent93 Cesoir FurTheWin Purple7x08_24 SBYM spudmaster & WaywardSonSon all getting the Gatorade treatment. Absolute scenes!!!

A lot of Wazzas filled their boots this week, taking advantage of a more forgiving sim, with many playing season best games. Standouts were the half back line of Mofra (21 disposals/8 marks) The Half Back (15 disposals/3 tackles) & toxic (16 disposals/8 marks before being sent forward), the centreline of FootyGuy13 (team-high 27 disposals/8 marks), Agent93 (23 disposals/4 marks/3 tackles/1 goal) & SBYM (20 disposals/7 marks/4 tackles/1 goal), pantskyle (23 disposals/7 tackles/7 FF) & Cesoir (17 disposals/6 tackles) in the guts and the multiple goal kickers in Purple7x08_24 (5 goals from 5 kicks), Dinsdale (3 goals before moving to the backline) Mesc (3 goals) & Snuffaluphagus (2 goals). Oldmate ruckdog was also alright, albeit inaccurate.
