    Round Twelve - At Home vs the Hawks

    Hey Wazzas, another week over and another round of qooty to review.

    We were still at home after the muddy horrors of round 11, hoping for better weather and the rub of the green from our favourite virtual tamagotchi. Our hosts in round 12 were the recently unbranded East Side Hawks, who have done a sterling job of both reclaiming their identity and refreshing their list. This made for a pretty enjoyable week, but then again Tarks is an enjoyable fella. We even dusted off a few of our old codgers in Frankston Rover Lord_Flashheart and Smoooothy to give them a run.

    And then before your knew it, game day crept up on us AND it was back at the traditional time slot so things were looking up. When the aforementioned tamagotchi broke the fourth wall and decided to simhouse in real life, it must have returned with its blood lust sated because we got what we hoped for in better weather and the rub of the green. I know that we traditionally do alright against the East Siders, but this game was the first one in a long time where we won all four quarter - leading by a point at quarter time, 19 points at half time, 27 points at three quarter time and saluting at the final fat lady warble to the tune of 53 points. Plus it was a mileston game with Purple7x08_24 bringing up his 50th game. This was our biggest win in over a season and was reminiscent of the highlighted round in Coney Island History (yes the winning margin was less than half of the 125 points of season 30 but it was still pretty bloody good).

    The result, coupled with losses to the Furies & Bombers, saw us climb of the bottom of the ladder and into a more comforting 11th position.

    pantskyle is in a rich vein of form, pulling out his third 100+DT point performance in the past five rounds thanks to 27 disposals, 8 tackles and 3 goals. Reginald Perrin (21 disposals/6 marks/4 tackles/3 goals) was the other to crack the ton, his first since round 2 last season. Others to do well include Piggy Smalls (25 disposals/6 marks/2 goals), Ocha905 (18 disposals/3 tackles/2 goals), spudmaster (19 disposals/2 goals) & The Filth Wizard (4 goals). Probably the first time in ages where we've had 10 individual goal scorers too!

    Round Thirteen - Away vs the Dragons

    Another week, another review. Let's get to it Wazzas.

    Round thirteen was our biannual loss to the Dragons. They had some sort of love affair with TheInjuryFactory, Dinsdale got attacked by wasps again, the spirit of Dav appeared, FootyGuy13 probably drank some weird milk, the foopy was both discussed and dismissed and I fell in love with Blacula.

    So yeah the game. We last defeated the Dragons eight seasons ago, and twice in total since the end of season 23. If that's not the height of simhousery then I don't know what is. But like a moran I think "this is gonna be the season that we beat them" and am left sitting on the kerb crying every damn time. They kicked a goal within a minute and never surrendered the lead from there, and even though it was close-ish for the first quarter the lead blew out to 68 points at three quarter time. The sim graced us with winning the final quarter by 11 point but that was really nothing more than a "f*ck you Warriors" as the final margin was 57 points, our biggest defeat of the season and one that sees us edging the bottom spot on the ladder with four games remaining.

Piggy Smalls (22 disposals/6 marks 1 goal), pantskyle (24 disposals/5 tackles/1 goal), FootyGuy13 (20 disposals/5 marks) & Purple7x08_24 (20 disposals/7 marks) also got plenty of the ball while TubbsFarquhar (3 goals) Reginald Perrin The Filth Wizard zackah & Mofra (2 goals each) were the multiple goal kickers. And I got my customary pulling off.

    Let's get to it Wazzas.

    Another week, another defeat.

    It was a big week for Coney Island, as we celebrated the first player to reach 300 games. A big milestone in a milestone season. Our good friend Raveneyes was the one to achieve the feat, earning himself SFA Life Membership in the process. We got around him accordingly, however the sim ripped our collective heart from our chest and tied that heart to its belt, which was the style at the time.

    Despite it being the quietest match thread of the season, it was still good value as the Furies are good people (yes even him). Their taste in cinema is absolute dogsh*t though, but let's not hold that against them too much. We even got a Star Wars day thing thrown in there.

    Scores were even for the first 36 seconds of the match, and again for another couple of minutes, which lasted until 5.04 of the first quarter. We did win the third quarter by 3 points and the fourth quarter by 9 points, however we still managed to lose by 27 points. The loss leaves us two wins and percentage out of the top eight with three games remaining. Imagine if your life support needed life support. That's our finals hopes.

    Ocha905 was best in for us for the second week in a row thanks to 22 disposals & 12 tackles. pantskyle (26 disposals/4 tackles/1 goal) was not far off while TheInjuryFactory (23 disposals/8 marks/2 goals), Freofalcon (23 disposals/6 marks), Raveneyes (20 disposals/12 hitouts/4 tackles), Piggy Smalls (24 disposals/3 marks), Dinsdale (22 disposals/7 marks) and FootyGuy13 (21 disposals/4 marks) all found plenty of it. Finally TIF was joined by The Filth Wizard Mofra and oldmate in kicking 2 goals each.
