Re: The Age: Fev deal done

Didn't seem to have too many problems with Lynch, Brown and Bradshaw.

Full of win for Brisbane. Actually hope this turns out alright for them, it takes a bit of guts to have a crack at the title.

Re: The Age: Fev deal done

Some background on Henderson: he was taken at pick No.8 in the 2007 NAB AFL Draft. He played seven games this year to take his career tally to 15. Has been used by the Lions as a key defender.

Cheers mate. Wonder if he can be played up forward. He seems to have good hands?

Re: FEV + PICK 27 for HENDERSON + PICK 12

Carlton have done very well they needed a gun backmen and they got one, they also got back into the first round and have come away from trade week with another potential gun midfielder.

Sure they lost Fevola but it may give there tall forwards the space they required to actually participate and the freedom to show there talents. I rekon they would be wise to trade for another decent tall forward or pick one up in the draft this year as a priority though and start building the forward line after Fev.

Would be a strange thing if Carlton v either Brisbane/West Coast in a prelim or granny happened...

Re: FEV + PICK 27 for HENDERSON + PICK 12

how do carlton get screwed it was better than the risca and bradshaw trade...henderson will be a gun

Henderson is unproven, he has done **** all to this stage, he is hardly a certainty.

And pick 12 for pick 27... It is better, but lets be honest, it isn't great.

If you told a Carlton supporter 2 weeks ago that you would trade Fevola + 27 for pick 12 and Henderson they would have laughed in your face.
Carlton have lost 80 goals a year for an upgraded pick and a bloke that's played 15 games... It'll probably be better for the long term future, but don't forget they brought in Judd to play with the current group because their window is about now.
That is effectively all but closed now.

Re: The Age: Fev deal done

I reckon Carlton won that trade.

They got two first rounders - one proven - for a guy who wasn't going to win them a flag.

Re: The Age: Fev deal done

You'll be hard pressed to see too many double teams against Brisbane, I can see alot of 60 meter kicks from Rich to Fev in the goal square. Pencil Fev in for 100!

Because Carlton will be going backwards before going forwards.

Re: The Age: Fev deal done

Can't be upset with Henderson + Pick 12 for Fev and pick 27 I guess.

Hehehe.....................
I would be absolutely peeved!

But hey! At least you still get to keep a connection with Fev.......................................yeah...................you still get to pay half his salary!

This is getting better by the minute!

And the Blues thought they may get O'Keefe, White .....or better still..........Barlow!!:D

Re: The Age: Fev deal done

Voss continues to show he has no idea. Paid way too much for Fev. Guess he was getting desperate to get the deal done and didn't think about what he was actually doing.

Blues have done extremely well, big winners here seeing as Fev was gone anyway, to get that for him is very well done. Brisbane just got bent over.

Re: The Age: Fev deal done

People are getting over awed by the names. To me, that Brisbane forward line would be completely dysfunctional. Not much chasing and "frontal pressure".

Teams will be able to rebound and run with consummate ease.

Bradshaw will either go back to CHB or forward when Brown has bouts in the middle.

Lets not be too hasty. Yeah Henderson does look to be pretty good, but a gun after 15 games in 2 years?

Fev won't kick 100 at Brisbane.

He'll be lucky to kick 70.

That's not a bad thing though, it's a bit different having 3 targets as opposed to one.

Re: The Age: Fev deal done

that's alot better than the Bradshaw/Richatelli swap.

and I don't know about Bradshaw at CHB. He wouldn't have the mobility anymore

Carlton won't. They don't have 2 good defenders, let alone 3.

Re: The Age: Fev deal done

Lachie Henderson is going to be a very good player. This is a fantastic trade compared to the previous offer available for the Blues and to secure pick 12 as well.
