The Herald Sun has search function for all MsD nominees.

I tried to find if Trey Ruscoe had nominated as I had suspicions that he possibly wouldn’t nominate.

I couldn’t find his name on the search tool.

Also not on the list of players who’ve undergone medicals (although if we’re the only club interested in him, possibly we wouldn’t bother since he’s already in the WAFL squad)

If Ruscoe was in the pool of players, he would have interest from multiple clubs.

If 9 clubs scouted Scaife, Ruscoe would be of interest to more than just West Coast.

Think it’s clear he hasn’t nominated, and I think that’s on the basis of a rookie spot on our list being offered at the end of the year.

Whens the talent become suspect in the MSD?

If other results go as expected this weekend but we win, we'll climb to 13th. If Hawks come out firing after dropping that game on the weekend, they might roll the Lions. Would then depend who of us and them finishes with the higher %.

Did not think I'd be concerned about or calculating these outcomes 10 weeks ago

Been busy with work and just catching up a little. Could it be of benefit to both the Crows and Eagles to get Yeo to band one compensation. Especially if we finish with pick 3-4?

Crows then receive the compensation pick via trade to take Draper and we get the Crows 1st rounder (currently pick 6) and some 2nd/3rd rounders to even the deal out?

I’d be happy for Yeo to stay, I’m not saying trade him but it would be tempting if a high pick was on the table.

Talent is suspect in MsD from about pick 1

It’s the mid season draft.

I dunno. Culley and Maric have some pretty decent traits. Widely accepted at the time they would have landed in around the second round of the previous National draft if they were showing that kind of form.

Anyone similar this year, and if so is it limited to 2-3 of them?

The thing that makes me chuckle is that Adelaide aren't even that good, let alone top four or premiership chance, yet they wanna throw massive money and an extra year at a 30 year old with a history of major groin issues. So they get a sugar hit out of Yeo IF HE PLAYS and then what? He's the cream on a very flat cake who'll be losing Walker in the next year or two.

So all that money to what? Finish 6th/7th/8th?

To be fair, it feels like they are a mid short of being very good.

Yeo could give them what they need to shoot up the ladder, for atleast a year or two.

Each club will have their own needs. My approach would be unless you’re in a situation where you HAVE to fill a hole (eg. all of your ruckmen have season ending injuries) you go with upside then positional need if players are similarly ranked. The top three I’ve mentioned are my picks, Howes probably does have slightly more upside than Hopkins but we are so flush with KPFs that I have Hopkins ahead given our dire need of run and carry out of defence. He’s been asked to do a medical but doesn’t seem to be appearing on too many club boards but obviously that's not to say those clubs aren’t interested. I would be shocked if Howes made it to our pick anyway. I think Blight and Howes will go to North and Tigers in either order the hopefully we nab Hopkins because we has the talent.

Adelaide have a pretty decent S&C guy so I reckon they'd back themselves to get the best out of Yeo.

This is going to be a unpopular comment but I look at our list and how Waterman has developed. Even Jack Williams is treading fine right now.

There are always times where we go through the list and see who is expandable for trade and who would actually give us a decent return in a trade. There's one player on our list that would suit this perfect in our rebuild. Doesn't affect our onfield performance much as we have been doing just fine without him. There's one player that with a trade would give us a hand full of draft picks.

Don't think we would ever would do it for obvious reasons but for the first time I've felt this. I don't think we need Oscar.Allen at all anymore. In fact we would be better to trade him for some quality draft picks.

But yeah it won't happen especially after we made him Captain and he is a decent bloke to have around the club. Just on a future team list speculative point and if we looked at it as wanting what's best for our rebuild it would be probably trading Allen for draft picks. Now's the time to do it while his value is high.
mate, i was thinking the same thing, albeit you wrote it much more eloquently then I would have. I'm worried what will happen when we throw another big dog into a forward line that's really clicked. Might be better to get two first rounders 🤷‍♂️ but the counter point is Oscar is f#$@ken amazing also

I don't know Yeo's family situation, but at the end of your career to pack up and move would be a hassle. However, I guess that's why the money would be so high because other teams would be aware of that.

I came here to try find something on Ruscoe, weird that he wouldn't apply for MSD.

Not weird at all tbh

Surely the Eagles can give Yeo an offer that wont break the bank/future flexibility..... and throw in a couple of Hungry Jacks Franchises, some BHP stock, and a brand new Audi from old mate Sharrod?

Already has a hotel in Vic Park and radio gig with 96fm ( Eagle sponsor ) .

Going okay in WA

Be interesting where the list spots come from? If we do land Baker and Buss, Yeo stays. Maric and Culley coming off the rookie.

Retire/delisting
Gaff
Jones
Edwards creates 3 senior spots.

Still need another spot plus a couple of draft picks needed.
