Yeah it was not a good feeling late last year not wanting your team to win.

Don't wanna be in that position again.

Get as many wins as possible in 2024 and if that means we have pick 6 or 7 (unlikely) then so be it.

think we still have more downs than up to come in 24 and would be quite, sort of ok with 5/6 wins and 15th/16th and pick 3/4

Last year was a slight outlier but Hawthorn won 7 games and still had pick 3, which ended up pick 5 on draft night.

At the moment the best case scenario for us is finishing above Hawks and St Kilda who look to be in a hole.

Keep in mind there are no Band 1 worthy RFA in teams from bottom 4-5 teams or academy bids in top 4-5.

Pick 5 at worst even if we win 6-7 games and finish above Saints and Hawthorn.

For sure but it just had to happen. Think its the only draft in the last 10+ years thats been that way.

Dont think we need to go through that again also so thats nice.

As ive said before, even if we had pick 1 this year, id take Sid Draper with it anyway who will probably be there at pick 5 anyway so no thanks on winning that spoon for me this year

Levi Ashcroft will 100% be a top 3 bid. Not academy but one that is taken from the pot and goes into a good team

If we win 5 that will be 10 wins in 3 years .
That is 100% priority pick levels especially when our wins are coming off the back of 30+ year olds having great seasons
Yeo McGovern Kelly cripps Hunt (29) barrass ( almost 29)

It would be in the afls interest to help us get a couple more senior players to help the transition otherwise we drop again

Also you just know Richmond will get handouts irrespective of if we get them or not. They sound like they will gut their list for picks and spend a few years at the bottom
This is the afl were talking about.
If you think eagles are any chance at a PP you need to pay more attention.

Best case scenario is PP are just put to bed forever. What a ridicilious concept.

Langford's consistent production at this level can't be denied, but this game from him was a little scrappier than usual. His normally strong kicking was off, and he seemed to struggle at times with the lack of space and time afforded to him due to the excellent pressure applied by the Lions players.

Smillie struggled to get anything going in this game, one in which his Eastern team was comprehensively beaten by the Devils. He appeared to work from contest to contest as hard as usual, and perhaps applied even more defensive pressure, but he struggled mightily to get first hands on the ball at stoppage registering just one clearance for the game, and wasn't able to find much of it on the spread either.

Waalitj Marawar (West Coast) star Elliot Yeo has responded to rumours of a big money offer from rivals Adelaide ahead of the club’s clash with the Crows on Sunday.

The 30-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and is attracting interest from multiple clubs with Adelaide reportedly tabling a three-year deal believed to be worth around $2.7 million.

Yeo is firming to face the Crows at Adelaide Oval after two weeks sidelined by a groin injury and said his focus was purely on returning to play.

“That’s up to my manager to handle,” Yeo told 96FM when asked about his contract.

“For me, it’s just about trying to get back on the park and play football, really.

“All the external noise, you have to try and block it out because your main job and your main role is to play football.

“That’s all I’ve got to focus on and worry about because I’m hoping to get through a test at the end of the week and then hopefully be able to play.

“That’s my main focus and my main goal at the moment. Not anything else that’s going on around otherwise it can kind of fester and eat you up.”

It comes after Waalitj Marawar coach Adam Simpson said he would love to keep the two-time club champion at the Eagles beyond this season.

“We’re working through that, but from all reports he wants to stay, and we want to keep him so I’m hoping that’s just a matter of time,” Simpson told 7News.

In-form forward Jake Waterman said while he didn’t want to get involved in his teammate’s decision, he wanted Yeo to remain in blue and gold.

“All I know is, I bloody want him to stay,” Waterman said.

“What he’s been able to do this year is just unreal, he’s helped us transform back into the team we are now and I’m sure everything will take care of itself.

“He loves this club and he wants to be a part of the rebuild, so I’m sure that will take care of itself.”
