Just a thought with sliding back from 3. If you look at Fremantle’s draft picks with there latest rebuild Brayshaw was there highest pick going at 2. Young was 6, Serong 7 & Amiss 8, Champman 11, & so on.

They never had any help from the AFL unlike some clubs but they have just found the way payers by picking well (It’s hard for me to give any credit to Fremantle)

It’s a good example that there are still great players after 5 so personally not too bothered to slide back if it generates extra players/picks.
Freo have been rebuilding for 10 years and have played 1 final in that time . Of course they would have a lot of top picks .
They went from minor premiers to cellar dwellers in 1 year

They also got gifted brayshaw for Weller.

Its not surprising they have the list they do but they still choked from top 4 to out of finals in the last month so the potential is there but they have a massive soft under belly when things aren't on their terms

Good. I’d be surprised if we’re not top of his list. Next question is price and where we draw the line. Would Brisbane drive a hard bargain? In order of preference:

Swap F4s
Pick 67
Pick 62

Unfortunately with points a premium for Brisbane I don’t think any of the above would be accepted even though they should be.
No way we should pay anymore than a token pick.

They have no need for him and should let him go as goodwill.

Honestly, if we arent talking to other teams such as the Saints and letting Tom know that we aren't going to let him just walk to Hawks for unders then we are idiots. 14+F2 is unders for a gun KPB with 3 years to run on his contract. Saints have lost Battle, lets shop him for a top 10 then he can make the decision if he really wants to go to Melbourne or see out his contract.

For me, the only real negative adding Graham, other than the fact he's injury prone and fairly B grade was that it meant Dev would be less likely to happen.

When if you look at them, Dev has much more upside, still potentially loads of room for more development, whilst Graham peaked a couple years ago.

Hopefully Dev still happens. Can never have too much mid depth, particularly for a side as lacking as ours.

It's either Dev or carry on with Ledwards for yet another year :rainbow:
That is an easy one - bye bye Luke

Are priority picks out of the question for us now? I can’t recall but assume North got theirs before the trade period, or at least the ones that they had to trade for players (hard to remember all the different poverty packages they have been given).

Disappointing if we aren’t considered given how far our picks have been pushed back the last couple of years and with other teams getting gifted high picks for average FAs. An end of R1 this year would’ve made the Baker trade straight forward. A couple of F1s would be handy to strengthen our chances of Chad.
They are happy for us to be a bottom team.

It is up to the Hawks. We apparently had sign off at 8 or 9.

He is contracted for another 3 years and hence up to Hawks to get pick 9. Alternatively give us something that can either get us up to 9 or of similar value.

There is no PSD threat.

I hope we are talking with Sydney about 19 and 22 for Tom

If I were West Coast I'd be more than happy to keep Barrass on the list if that's the case. They can get stuffed if they're only gonna attach one pick for a player that's gonna shoot them up to top of ladder status. Please don't roll over for a change and get maximum value for him.

I didn't think Hawthorn were gonna be so hard to deal with. 14 & F1 should've been the starting asking price.
Of course they would be. Entitled Victorian team.

We should be playing the game like PA with Houston. Don’t get/give up the picks we want then no trade.
We know his worth and so do Hawthorn.

Ridiculous posturing from the Hawks, they should be taking 14 and f2 to the bank for Barrass and be glad to do it.

The classic unbiased position of “Well there’s TWO teams in WA so he can be traded to the highest bidder”

It’s only fair that the equal is applied the other way “Well there’s TEN teams in VIC so he can be traded to the highest bidder”

Strangely still waiting to hear it…
Classic double standard. In fact I think they have a whole set of standards depending on who they are talking about.

For people who think they are so knowledgeable they are appallingly biased.

It should have been the price as late as today really

Need to create the narrative that other teams are waiting and keen if Hawks dither too much. Beyond a joke that they won’t even attach a second to the deal given three years in contract to go.
They don’t care about contract or no contract, they think they can just poach him.

If we don’t leverage his contract status it doesn’t mean anything.
