Barrass would do us a big favour to come out and say he is willing to look at other options. Saints absolutely in the perfect spot to get him. Straight swap of Battle for Barrass is a big win for them.

Would rule out a straight swap for Baker too. Cmon Tom don't you want to play under Ross the Boss?
Non free agent free agency unfortunately

I kinda wish it was the 90s again and you just didn’t get to keep track of all this trade and FA nonsense.

Much easier to just switch it all off after the GF and tune back in for Round 1 of the Ansett cup.

This stuff is the worst part of the league but unfortunately the one of the easiest to get obsessed over

With the Eagles holding firm across multiple potential trades, Team Dry Sheets absolutely peppering the goals this morning!

Still 1-1
If this is 'holding firm', I can't wait to hear what the plan was

I think it would be better if they held a week of negotiations with no trades allowed, then once they're all done, they have 3 days where the trades can happen.
Saves fans from waiting for trades that won't happen until the last few days.

Richmond have just traded away most of their later picks for pick 20 from Brisbane. Pick 24 still there though.

Could it be Baker and 24 for Hawks F2 and 14?

pick 14 + f2 isn't enough we need more. If they arent adding a F1st we should get.

pick 14 + f2 + 30 maybe even + f3
The reason the we're currently sitting at 14 + F2 is because Hawthorn refused to give up 33 or F1. It is unlikely they'll give up any extra picks either.

14 + F2 isn't terrible on paper but those picks will slide out to something like 17 + 50-odd. I imagine we're happy with F2 because it suits our goals next year but I'd rather we just told Hawthorn to find a top 10 pick and leave this mess up to someone else.

At least those four picks get eaten up by bidding so later picks come in a bit, and reduces Brisbane's need to drive a hard bargain on Dev.

If the pick 26 reports had any merit, Brisbane at least has something useful now to make that happen. 26 for Robertson + 32 values Dev at 60; 26 for Dev + 42 values him at 46. We could throw in one of 62/67 to boost points for Brisbane to make it 32.

Assuming we do get 24 from Richmond as part of the Baker deal, we would wind up with something like 3, 24, 32/42, 62, 67 with two best 23 players.

Interesting that Hawks are fielding offers for pick 14, per Gettable
Could mean they’re trying to force our hand. Or could mean we’ve said go away and turn that pick into Swans’ two picks and we’ll talk again
Their list manager said re Barrass “we’re looking to give what we believe is fair value for Tom. At the end of the day West Coast have to make a decision whether they agree to that”. Sounds like they’re not moving much

According to gettable the hawks have put pick 14 on the table for teams to take

A ploy for us to cave on Barrass.

Alternatively they may have given up on Barrass, if they don’t hold #14 which is their best card he almost certainly is gone.

Or they may get a suite of picks one of which may be more attractive for the Baker pick.

‘Fair value’?

What is this guy talking about? Misusing words.

Why would F2 even be involved.
Just speculating that the slide to 24 was based on Richmond getting a good compo for Graham. Which didn’t happen. If it’s still a pick slide 24 is the only real option but may need something extra now.

Trades probably look completely different now though if 14 is on the market.

Re Rich-Bris swap of picks
Bris have given up pick 20 for 1704 points coming back. If Ashcroft bid on at pick 2, they’ll need 1887 to match after the 25% discount.
So they’re almost getting the best player in the draft for pick 20. Good system

Richmond trading out 32,42,43,45 for 20 tells me they’re not sending a pick back our way in Baker trade.
Yes they still have 24 which they could still theoretically hand to us, but if they were going to do that they’d have been better not trading for 20 and sending us 32,42
So they’d have 24,43,45 rather than just 20
