If we have a particular interest in FOS, that might be one reason for an openness to downgrading 3 -- it's beginning to seem like everyone else does too, and with Lalor firming for 1, clubs are coming for North's 2.

I'd be pretty surprised if he ended up in the PSD. Every year there's people calling for clubs to walk players to the PSD but it almost never happens. It's just bad business.

Fully expect him to end up at WCE, we have second rounders to offer.
It's not bad business , it's an untracked player
Because it lands Baker in the process, and pick 24 just happens to be first pick of the 2nd night of the Draft. Means you have 24 hours to decide who to pick, or can live trade it. A valuable position every Draft.
Terrible deal. We lose access to guns, FOS, Lalor, Smith etc... for a pretty decent 27 year old utility is woefully bad ... hang onto pick 3 and use it on draft night . Use the Barrass F1 to get back into the 1st round and offer a f2 for Baker...If Rich don't take it then so be it..apart from some mongrel he doesn't fill an immediate need on the list

So you getting to wait 24hrs and getting decent but not great player and the only cost is missing out on a top end gun mid we can long term pair up with Reid ....sure ....why not delay the rebuild a bit longer.

Far it beginning to feel like siddy boi will be there at 3.

Richmond seemed locked in on Lalor. Norf seem to want to either slide down or go for Tauru. There hasn't been much link with Draper and Norf/Richmond yet. And vic teams want pick 2 for FOS

Hold firm

Wow what the **** did we do to Dev.

What's his problem with us

Does he get annoyed that he has to live up the shadow that is Darren Glass?

What a dickhead....either way they'd be ****en dumb to do that trade
Also not what they want at all. They had 5. They chased Freo for 10 or 11 and have now found 9.

They want more picks in this draft, nor fewer. Non starter for us.

Disagree - if it was good, it would happen all the time.

  • One team gets nothing, not good for club relations and future trade opportunities.
  • Club is viewed by players and player managers as a difficult operator and won't do what's necessary to get a deal done
  • Player who's nominated you is left in uncertain limbo - I.e. risk that Richmond will pick Baker up in the PSD before us.

It's just an all round shitshow. Yeah a zero sum approach might give you something to beat your chest about in the short term, but in the long term it's more damaging than good.

Do we have anything to base that off other than FlyPies Pies Content saying it?

Probably a Code Sports article (which I can’t find?) that has Collingwood listed as one of the possible clubs and they’ve scraped it from that.

Sts lost Battle.meh!
Sts got P8. Yeeha.
Barass to Sts.
P8 to WC.
Everybody wins. Sts get a free upgrade on Battle.Barass gets to Melbourne .WC get a single figure pick.
St Kilda dont need Barrass, they aren't in their window.

Yeah but it would help us win trade week! And that means something apparently!

imo the bridge was burned with him last year when he committed to us and then changed his mind at the literal last minute.

Do not want any more anyway, Brisbane want a second rounder for him. Seem too high a price.
