Yeah, agreed.

There are weird things happening clearly. Cal even said it’s a quirk that Hawks are now trying to trade into 13 again.

Maybe we thought if we accepted 14 for TB straight up, Richmond would’ve wanted it straight on traded to them with nothing coming back? Thsi way at least we get a F2 and Baker instead of a straight Baker for TB. Richmond might prefer a Future first?

Who knows
Maybe we are looking at 3+13 for 6+18+Baker or something?
idk

You mean in the phantom draft/power ranking where it says "plays like". Brah. SPP plays like Cripps......
No...
Many have made the comparison. Will Day started as a running half back interceptor type, and moved into the middle in the last couple of years. Travaglia could easily do that

Yeah but you think we would’ve just taken the 14 and that would’ve been done not apparently preferred future picks?

Can only assume it’s going to be a mega trade with picks flying every where.

Warner is young enough that he could definitely figure in a future tilt. Would be a great acquisition.
The thought of Reid & Warner in the same midfield makes my pants wet, and not with piss.

Would love to get the best young mid we can with 3 this year while loading up on F1 to lock the chad in.

Ambrose Burnside how does this moisture register on your scoring calculations - is it like an own goal for Team Dry-Sheets?

Very little chance Freo would have given up all three first rounders for Baker and Bolton. Meddling in our dealings as part of their separate Bolton for 10 & 18 deal to try and use what Richmond squeeze out of us as a result of their interference as a goodwill component to their own deal.

The academies arent the same. NSW and QLD teams can add any player from their state to their academies, so all the good NSW or QLD kids go to those teams.
Vic, SA, and WA teams can only add indigenous or immigrant kids basically.

Its still a huge advantage for the northern state clubs

I think he specifically mentioned f/s picks though

However given the number of kids playing in WA/SA/Vic vs the rugby states, it would likely average out over time.

If you opened it up to all players in other states, you might as well abandon the draft and move to a zonal system. The only advantage of this is it would very quickly thin out the Victorian clubs (except the AFL would almost certainly start zoning bits of WA and SA to Vic clubs in the name of "equalisation")
