Hoping the saints are involved .

It was reported we were speaking to them and the only reason would be they want pick 3

▪︎Wce 3 + 62 for 7 + 14 + owies
This is very close to the pick 2 for 8 and 12 we did 2 years back but this is a stronger draft

▪︎Saints 7 + 8 + 27 for 3 + 12
4 spot upgrade for a 4 spot downgrade + 27

▪︎Carlton 12 + 14 + owies for 8 + 27 + 62
Move up the draft order and pocket picks for the father sons

Well Carltons 2 picks would be ball park for pick 6, so if we assume its 12+14 for 6
Then how does Carlton get from 6 to 3?
Owies worth nothing. Kennedy? Carroll?

West Coast do 3+f2 for 6+Baker
Carl send Carroll to wce for wcef3

Kennedy is worth pick 30ish?
12+14 equal to 6 roughly?

Carlton send 12+14+Kennedy+wcef3 for pick 3 from Richmond?
Rough equivalent value is 6+30+f3 for 3

Eagles - Split 3 and some future picks for 6+baker+depth players. We should get future picks from Barrass to replace what we spend here
In: 6+Baker+Carroll+Owies
Out: 3+f2+f3

Carlton - Get 3 for everything
In: 3
Out: 12+14+Kennedy+Carroll+Owies

Richmond - Get a big body utility/mid, and an extra 1st rounder to diversify their kids in the deep draft.
In: 12+14+Kennedy+wcef3
Out: 6+Baker

We take 6+26+Champion in the draft(unless we buy in again with Barrass picks). Add Graham, Baker, Owies and Carroll as depth. Lets us keep Burgiel or Culley, or buy another pick with something from the Barrass deal instead.

Is this roughly even for all parties?

Who says no?
There are definitely trades that keep us in the top 10 of the draft. Basically relies on Carlton trading 12+14 for another pick(6/7/8/etc) and giving us that pick, then paying up with whatever they can scrounge up to upgrade that pick to 3

This is pretty complicated but would be okay. Is our F2 evaporating here? Would keep one of our F2 or F3 ideally.

2 x Picks in the late teens is a lottery. We've got an All Australian Premiership winning Fullback contracted for 3 more years who we developed, and we're supposed to just hand him over for 60 cents on the dollar? F%ck no. We have to take the Jerry Reinsdorf position like he did with Pippen. You signed the contract, don't come back to me when you want more.

They really want FOS so could be plausible

This would have to be after the Rioli and Bolton trades. I don’t like it but could rationalise it. There is no way Carlton end up with pick 3 after handing over 12, 14 and Owies - we could easily find a better deal than that for 3. Even the below looks favourable for Carlton.

West Coast
Out: 3, 26
In: 10, 14, Baker, Owies

Carlton
Out: 12, 14, Owies
In: 6

Richmond
Out: Baker, 6, 10
In: 3, 12, 26

I'd say the contingency is with the expectation of the T.Barrass trade providing additional future picks.

If this all goes where we (in the minority it seems) suspect with us starting at pick 6 after Richmond deal Rioli - I’m actually thinking we could be doing what I wanted and shifting 3 for 6++. So curious now

Sorry, its meant to go to Richmond. Roughly 3+f2 for 6+baker, Tigers already have 7 picks up before 25 here, so they might prefer a future 2nd rounder.
Tigers get slight overs here but helps make up for dropping from 6 to 12+14

There will be no way the Eagles will be yielding any substantial value for Owies, he will just be steak knives. He is only worth a pick in the 50's at best.

They rejected an offer, and now are looking likely to accept it because (an out of contract & likely to be delisted) Owies was added to the deal.

Carlton want 3 pretty bad and we don’t mind a slight slide though to expand our subsequent draft strength. I think we are getting pick 6 in all this. If so, I don’t hate it

If Carlton trades us Carroll for a f3, and they value Kennedy at 30ish, could 6+Kennedy+wcef3 get them pick 3 from Richmond? I think it might.
Kennedy as a big body might suit them, and our f3 would help them jump up the order again next year

I knew something like this could be possible when the gobshite blurted out what he thought Baker was worth on the first f..king day of trade period.

Am not looking forward to the particulars of this trade at all... Way too big a downgrade
I long for the days when we might just have traded 14 for Baker

Yep I like this, going to assume we are getting Travaglia, a KPD, Champion, Baker, Graham, Owies, and Carroll this offseason. Culley and Burgiel can fight to the death for the last list spot

Completely fixes our depth, and gives us run from half back.
Go into next year with an extra f1 linked to the Hawks. Get Warne with our 1st pick then young Curtin with the hawks f1. Then 2-3 NGA kids

We are back

Carlton is getting pick 3.

There is no trade we are getting involved with to Salvage this all time shit show from you blokes.

Should have sent the hypothetical I posted earlier to your club 😂

Perfect year to bring in players through trades rather the the draft.
Look it is what it is at this point haha. Carroll leaving gives Carlton the assets to get 3 in some sort of reasonable way, unless Young leaves instead.

Actually cancel Carroll.
Carlton buys pick 3 with 6+Kennedy+Young.
Richmond have some mature age players again

Trade our hawks f1 into this year for 18/20 and draft Hynes

Add Travaglia, Hynes, a KPD, Champion, Baker, Graham, Owies and then Culley/Burgiel fight to the death.
