Don't listen to the Pyke interview with Duff if you don't want to get angrier
Trying to justify a shit trade with the old "we made a commitment to Liam we'd get him in" line.

Sorry Pykey, not buying it. Your club just had their pants pulled down and got raw-dogged.

Pykey didn’t fill me with confidence there with Duff.
Duff didn't press him enough imo

What I would give for a journo who actually asks tough questions instead of just talking garbage and acting tough on their own segments then kissing ass in their interviews.

What a joke.

"We had to come up with a different solution to fulfill our commitment to Liam Baker" - Don Pyke

We sold our future to appease Liam ****ing Baker.

Don you said we aren't selling the farm for these deals.

You just sold it for Liam Baker and pick 14/15.

When a 2nd and a F2nd was all that was needed. Max.

Sorry Don but what just happened was not what you described. You folded and wet your pants.

When so many people inside and outside the club all agree. That's not a great look nor outcome.

Clubs don't walk players to PSD anymore.

And most players don't want to leave that way.

It's an empty threat most years.
Of course they don't, but it exists as an option and if it was ever gonna be used, that time you are in a rebuild and another team in a similar position is demanding overs for a player and won't accept 26 in a deep draft would have been the time to give it a crack. We are allowing Richmond to leapfrog us in terms of a rebuild, we should have played hardball.

Does Baker actually realise that he has completely ****ed the club he has just joined?

That his demands that Richmond should get good compensation has literally put his new team out of flag contention? Talk about self ownage.

****ing idiot
Surely he should have seen Richmond get a decent offer, if they want too much it's on them and he should have then decided okay Richmond no compensation if they are going to be greedy

Lets hope we dont look back at the draft and say we could have had a such and such a player, but we gave away pick 3 to get Baker. Baker at best is around pick 20-30 anything higher than that he can stay at Richmond or Freo can be foolish enough to give a high pick away for him.
The club has no negotiating power.

They can’t refuse a trade. This is diabolical.

After listening to Pyke it's fair to say McQualter and Clarke had a fair bit to do in getting this horrible trade for Baker across the line, talk about conflict of interest!

Also sounds like we are into Dev Rob and potentially trading back in to get a pick in top 30 to take 3 picks inside 30 to the draft, probably one of Sydney's or GWS's picks.

If Melbourne trade 5 and 9 to Norf, they will proberbly take Talls, and that might leave a slim chance of TT being available with pick 12, Depends on Richmond eventual draft hand though😒

Don't forget Liam's training standards. He is going to lift our training standards.

The details only get worse.

L.Baker: FIVE years

M.Owies: THREE Years

High potential of not just stuffing up draft and talent capital, but clogging list and salary space as well.

This better work out - because if it doesn't the outcome will be a complete bottoming out during Tasmania draft compromisation with a squad that is unable to be turned over easily.

The risks here are so extreme, yet it appears the club has gone all-in on it.

Oh the situation is not good.
We had a slim and slender chance to get out list in decent shape before Tasmania comes in.
In order to do that we needs to nail the following drafts, so how are we tracking ?

Draft 2022: Not looking that promising.
Ginbey ok, Hewett injury woes, Barnett looks a dud for now, Burgiel looks a injury prone player, Long looks good and a great pick up.

Draft 2023: HR9 outstanding, say no more. The other Reid looks promising.
Hall to early to tell, Johnston looks ok.

Draft 2024: Fu(ed the trade period going to need an excellent draft to redeem our trade mistakes.

Draft 2025: Let’s see what picks we can pick up from the Tommy trade.
Next years draft is vital to us having any chance of being competitive in the mid future ( 4-6 years ).

Fair to say that the mismanagement of this years trade period, has set us back in our list rebuild, at a time when we could least afford it.

Feeling pretty flat this morning after learning that Matt Clarke has shoved a pineapple up the Clubs arse.

Hopefully the Club will include a couple of tubes of Anasol in its give aways in the 2025 Membership Packs…… we are going to need it.

Carlton already got our pick 3 this year. Just watch them make a play for Harley next year. I thought it was odd that Voss presented the jumper to Harley’s GF in her debut game. OK, he is their men’s senior coach but it is not like he is one of their past great players or something.

By that same logic (deep draft) you could argue that there's less merit to being upset about a pick downgrade from 3 to 12?

Lots of water to go under the bridge but I honestly think in 12 months the tone from the WCE fans will probably change a fair bit.
