People lost their shit during covid and acted like complete control freaks .

Now they just want us to move on and for us to forget all the BS they did ?

Not ****ing likely
Pretty funny isn't it when they were all so outspoken and high and mighty a couple of years ago, now they just ignore or change the topic lmfao

Half of this board included

Eh its for a salary dump 59 is fair in my opinion.
I don't understand why we even need to salary dump, the salary cap is about to go up and we've shed absolute bags off of our books the last couple of years, unless they're just trying to front end as much as possible to go after some big fish over the next couple of years or something

Am I a bit of a tight *** for wanting more for darling? 64 is a bit crap even though on draft night it'll come back to 50's

Darling + 59
For pick 40 sounds better
I think it all depends on how much of his salary we are willing to pay. Not sure what has been offered up yet.

Well i bet Harely gets a big pay day and next year if we are going for Warner thats another portion of money.

Also Waterman + Allen will be getting a bump.

Darling pick use on Champion?

Nah... I think Jaxon Artemis is a better prospect with that pick ( would go very well on the wing or half back) . If Champion is still there , get him in the rookie draft. We have a few small forwards already in Dewar, Long, an Brockman . If we really want a gun small forward we should look at Berry in the draft.

We're not dumping Darling's salary. If it wasn't for North, Darling would be on our list and playing WAFL next year. Fools.

That’s your answer as to the why.
It will be both:

Front Loading contracts.
Chasing a big fish ( or two ), this year OR next.

Hopefully we offer Warner well clear of what freo can then, midfield will be looking much better placed come 2026
I don’t see how Freo could possibly be in the ballpark of what we could offer Warner in salary. They have $2M per year tied up in ruckmen alone, plus all their other young guns coming into their prime years. Not to mention they will sign Bolton on big money plus hopefully save us from ourselves and take Baker. It will just be a matter of what Sydney want in a trade, if Chad chooses to leave that is.

Warner is apparently on a low salary next year (like 400-500) so could quite possibly add an extra $1M on that if he leaves this year. But Sydney will happily make him play out his contract unless he demands a trade and they get a very solid return.

How ****en good would Warner be

Thinking that if ( and it’s a big IF ), Sydney win the Premiership this year, he could decide to come home.
If the Swans fall short, it’s very hard to see them agreeing to a trade this off season.

So cheer, cheer the red and the white .

I would take Lalor over Langford ... 190cm mid/forward bull that can clunk marks, vise like tackles , does damage with ball in hand, and will average 20+ a game.
In the scenario i posted Lalor was off the board.

He (Lalor) has been more impressive up fwd than through the midfield this year. I think mostly due to not being in peak condition. He definitely uses the ball well but i guess if there was any criticism of his game its that he hasn’t posted big numbers consistently, so probably a question of his consistency and also he does seem a little injury prone which sometimes can be purely luck but also can be a concern.

I really don't understand this rationale. If Sydney win the premiership, surely he will want to load up and go again with a team that will be within a window of contention for a number of years to come.

Winning premierships is great and no doubt a players preference would always be to play in a successful environment.

However these guys are professionals and it’s their career and it goes in the blink of an eye. If Warner has been on only 500-600k and a massive contract is put under his nose, both him and his management are going to be very interested.
Play next year for 500k and possibly win a flag or move home to WA and play for West Coast who have offered us a heavily front loaded contract and I’ll be on 1.5-2 mill.

I wonder if we'll be able to fit Archer in the side alongside Jake and Oscar, really want to get some games into him next year.
Don’t see why we couldn’t, especially if he was able to play some ruck. Hutch moves up the ground, Maric moves back.
