Eagles out: 13
Eagles in: Baker, 27

Dockers in: Bolton, 39
Dockers out: 10,16,27

Richmond in: 10,13,16
Richmond out: Baker, Bolton, 39

As realistic as I could come up with and I don’t get where the trade makes it Barrass for Baker we’ll be getting more than just 13 for Barrass hopefully a future first.

Gives us3,23,27,59 in this years draft and the ability to trade hawks future first on draft night if there’s something we like in the later stages of the first round

reading this gave me aids, i think i support freo now

Surely the AFL can secret sauce the Rotham compo so we end up with an end of first rounder for Baker.

Helps both us and Richmond, without the need for PP outcry from the media

No they can’t because the clubs then will know what the figure is for compo. And who decides when they should fudge it and when not? Before you know it, administration is throwing welfare payments in every trade.

Thats assuming we get Hawks F1... It is seeming that is more and more unlikely .

Tell them to bash it, tell Barrass, unlucky. He signed three, we need to stick fat. If not we trade next year, give him a pay rise, McGovern isn't lasting past theee years anyway. Darling and Gaff are gone, pay the man a good rate! He is top 5 back man, without a doubt. Liam baker isn't top 20 in the the midfield.

Losing Tommy is a big step back IMHO.

All we need is an engine room in the middle, accountability and we are closer to contending for the 8 than many believe.

Bakers true value at most is a pick 18, his year was shit house, and he's a utility player at his peak.

I have a gut feeling smillie could be an option for us, is a 2 person tackle, so is harley and yeo. Smillie would leave harley 1 on 1 on the outside, add in someone zippy like TT and its a nightmare match up

By no means claiming to have consistent mail or sources, but I do know someone in the Smillie camp and they have said we’ve been big on him and have interviewed him a few times.

It wouldn’t surprise me if we go Smillie or Langford and get Yeo’s long term replacement sorted.

Although we need inside / outside players more than just purely inside guys, I could see the logic behind picking a contested bull, releases Harley and we get more physicality in the middle.

There are usually guys like Draper in most drafts, a lot of drafts don’t have specimens like Smillie or even Langford.

Love it how Cats could get Bailey Smith for pick 15, but we may pay 13 for Baker.
Smith is a million times more valuable than Baker

We're reached a point where the media have absolutely lost the plot on just how far we should bend over this trade period, and thankfully it looks like we are starting to see some pushback from the few eagles in the Media. First Schoey today and then Barra running with "Barrass might as well stay at this point" and "in what universe is a 27 year old Liam Baker a better option than taking pick 13 in this draft?" We need to push back far harder now. Don saying a few things today as well.

Our default position should just return to "We're working on long term deals for Jack Graham and Tom Barrass, and looking forward to regenerating our list via the draft. After 3 years of historically poor performances, for two years in a row our second round pick has fallen around pick 30 and this is unacceptable. We are asking the AFL for draft assistance commensurate with the advantages given to North Melbourne in previous years."

The entire football media industry has completely lost all respect and it's actually a problem. We've returned to the big boys trade table for the first time in a decade and it seems the expectations from the industry are that we're now the new Gold Coast, a club going nowhere that should be losing key players for unders and paying double the market rate for role players and be grateful because your shit.

Time to walk. These deals all stink and if the AFL expect us to help Hawthorn win a premiership and Richmond fastback their rebuild before Tassy its up to them to put their hands in their pockets like they do with other feeder clubs, and give us the currency to facilitate.

IMO not really, we need that 13 + whatever extra we get long term more than we need TB. He's 29, and has value right now and we need that right now, he is not really going to help long term if he stays. If we don't we slow the rebuild and we have already waited too long. We should have traded him last year to Sydney, we should have traded Gaff in 2020 to North , we should have traded Darling in 2021 to GC.... This time we are actually going to get something of value for one of our top line players while we still can. I don't think we give up any first round picks now or F1s for Baker at all. I think what we will likely get is 13 and 30 this year or a 13 and a F2 . Give them 30 for Baker and keep our 13 and 23. These 2 first rounders for TB that we keep banging on about is about as likely as pick 13 that Richmond supporters are thinking they are going to get for Baker.

Essentially trading barrass for baker is just crazy talk. If wce go for that, they've got the wrong people in charge and we're all in for many years at the bottom. All first round picks must be used for the draft.

Baker is a mcginnity clone - nothing more, nothing less.

Agree, need to take 3, 13 and 23 to the draft, Baker needs to be though other means.

Nailed it

Got a feeling this is going to be a disaster trade period for us and we'll long for the good old days of ROB.

The term bed wetter has been used recently to describe some posts.

This is yet another example.

Can people just hold there melts until there is something to actually melt about.
