The academies + F/S has really thrown the draft into the category of pointlessness.

No matter what happens from here, Gold Coast won the draft. If that is the reality, then the draft is compromised at a very high level

I don't mind FS matching, but the northern teams need to only be able to match their academy kids outside of the top 20 or 30 as a compromise, if the non-northern clubs can only match outside the top 40.
It's an absolute joke.

They keep losing players back to Melbourne as a start up club it actually would be good to see them get some top quality locals they can build a side around for the next decade.

There are still rumours of King wanting to go back to Melbourne. What’s he worth? Would the Hawks or Roos offer there 1st for him? Would put the suns in a strong position to go after pick one if it was the case.
