They keep losing players back to Melbourne as a start up club it actually would be good to see them get some top quality locals they can build a side around for the next decade.

There are still rumours of King wanting to go back to Melbourne. What’s he worth? Would the Hawks or Roos offer there 1st for him? Would put the suns in a strong position to go after pick one if it was the case.
That's their own responsibility to retain players and make the club a place that players want to stay at.
The Tassie team will probably have a lot more trouble keeping players compared to GC based on location.

Mckercher, Curtain, Sanders, Watson. Maybe Caddy and Duursma not far behind.

But it drops off after that.
And if we split it wont be 2 and 3.
So that list of talent wont be there for us.
This is why splitting is dumb unless the draft pool is deep of high quality. (or it's deep of the same quality).

If we want curtin et al more than harley you take first dibs and use the pick 1.
Hoping people slide to your split pick is a fools game.

Reid might end up being the best player out of this draft but he hasn't done much to impress me in these national championship games so far
yeah I don't like a couple of times he could've tackled and just stuck out one arm, Sheed like.

What if...........

Barrass requests a trade to Swans.

And we get an offer we cant refuse for pick 1.

Get Swans 1st pick 5 and by paying a chunk of salary also get Swans 24 in exchange for our 38.

Blues stumble again and offer pick 6, their F1st plus the TDK trade pick to Geeelong say 11. Throw in Fisher as a salary dump and Mitch McGovern as a sweetener to help cover the loss of Barrass. For pick 1, 53 and 57. A Eagles player who wants out also may get involeved.

Draft hand of 5, 6, 11, 19, 24 and 33.

Keep our 2024 1st plus gain Blues 2024 1st.

Add M McGovern and Fisher to the depth chart to support developing the kids but dont cost huge cap space.

Harley is such a Carlton player type they love. Arrogant and flashy. The hype at the Blues on this kid could blind a few into doing something rash like over paying for the next Captain Caaaaaarlton.

Use 5 1st round pick across 2023 and 2024. 7 when you include 2022.

Sanders looks a decent midfield option if we get Sydney’s first and miss Curtin. Completing his school in Melbourne so maybe less of a flight risk?

Reid is clearly injured, he came off in the 1st quarter for a while, you guys need to relax. Reactionary takes after every Champs game
Yep, was reported as a hip complaint. Definitely wasn't moving as well as he did the first 2 games.
