Why are we even considering splitting the pick? It's so stupid, we're happy to not take the clear cut best player and are trying to reason not taking him.

Also i'm not comfortable with trading Reid to Melbourne who are a contending team too only make them better.

So I've done a bit of an assessment of our best 18 (U25 talent) against Freo's. Looking at it, it is clear we are well behind them, but that should come as no surprise given how much further progressed they are in their rebuild.



Looking at our team, I think we are lacking in a few key areas - 1. KPP (both KPD+KPF), 2. Midfielders (both inside and out) 3. Rebounding Defenders.
Reid would be a great get, but Curtin and McKercher I think would also compliment our future team dynamic nicely.

P.S I'm sure some of you disagree with my ratings this is more just to have a quick stab at what our needs are (although I would be curious to hear other opinions).

There’s a huge gap between some of our good prospects and theirs. Chesser has shown just as much as Erasmus, Ginbey and Hewett would be comfortably the best of that group.

He’s worth taking a chance on for sure, but there’s a good chance he won’t get the inside midfield minutes with us either to be fair. TK, Ginbey, Hewett and Reid will probably all be before him. That’s without even mentioning guys like Culley too.

I’m not giving up anything of much value for Robertson personally, needs to be a throwaway pick, same with Brockman.
