Pick 3, Hawthorn’s future first and Brockman for pick 1?

Assuming North don’t get pick 3 for McKay.

(Yes, I know we could walk Brockman to the PSD. But how likely is that, in all honesty?)

Speculating here.

1. The club won't entertain any offer that doesn't include the means of getting Curtin. Only way we're overlooking Reid, is for him. So I daresay melb, or any other club with a "godfather offer" can GTFO.

2. The idea of "loading up on 3rd rounders and getting whatever we can" is silly when we're likely only taking 4, at most 5 picks in this draft and our 4th selection is currently pick 38. Unless we lose some of our first 4 picks through trading (unlikely given who we've been linked to), or get a juicy offer for pick 19, you'd assume we won't be adding to our current draft hand.

Oh do you remember Liam Ryan draft? 2017.
How many NGA's do we have to draft?
C'mon short memory is indeed short.
What is the point in having NGA and not being able to draft them? We need 2nd rounders or 3rds to package up to move to 2nds.

Collard, Livingstone etc. We best be getting Collard. Who knows how Liam Ryan bounces back after 2 Hamstring Tendon surgeries in a season.

I don't like it....but I don't hate it either. 100% better than anything I imagine Melbourne will come up with

Opposition players tend to rate their player highly and we seem to swallow it. Narkle was marketed as second round pick to 3rd and he was delisted by the end.

Caution needs to be applied.

This makes me nervous given the Hawks form, and the potential for their future first to be something around pick 10.

I don’t think Walker is a nine goal forward on Gov.

I reckon Gov knew the script (it was better for us to lose) and played within himself.

Has anyone confirmed that Gov is injured? Otherwise, if any player decides to play a script in game with the understanding a loss is better than he needs to go.

We need competitors who hate losing more than they love winning.

Trade scenario's i'd be open to

Trade 1 for 2 and 3

Offer North our future first for 2 and take Curtin

We give up pick 1 and potentially top 2 pick next year for only 2 and 3?

I’ll be wanting 2, 3, their R2 and future R2.

Would you take it, or stick with pick 1?
As long as Reid's knee is 100% I'd stick with pick 1 and work out a separate trade for Brockman.
But if ROB is going to do something with pick 1, other than use it in the draft, this is probably one of the most realistic and least annoying suggestions that I've seen so far. Could potentially on-trade it to get another pick in the first round this year as well.

No separate trades

1 for 2 and 3

Keep 1 offer future first for 2, take Reid and Curtin

They need to remove top 40 matching for the Northern academies.
Or as a compromise only allow matching outside of the top 25 or something.
The draft is becoming compromised beyond acceptable limits.
Will be worse when Tassie joins the comp.
All players should be available to all teams apart from father sons.

The only 2 times we have held Pick 1 (not inluding the year where GWS wiped out spoon pick) we did not trade it and selected players in Gardiner and Banfield.

Think we will likely keep the pick and use it.

We traded for pick 1 both those years.

Prior to last year no one had traded pick 1 for 20 years.

Reids knee is fine, was a minor jarring and they decided just to be extra cautious.
