Watch O'Sullivan destroy the combine (not as much as some others) and potentially jump ahead of Curtin.
He has all that attributes I’d imagine that would make most recruiters drool. To think that he probably has 6-7 years of development still left in him till we see his absolute best as a big bloke makes you wonder how good he could actually be.

From the highlights I've seen, Curtin looks more polished but O'Sullivan looks like an excellent contested mark. O'Sullivan jumping higher than Curtin wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

You’re fairly obtuse I see.

For starters I proposed a deal Melbourne could look at, and then we could swing in behind. But noted there were issues. There’s a fair chance that if north don’t get three (which is not locked in at this stage) that both those two are there at 4 and 5.

There’s been talk that North and Hawks like Dursma and Watson so not out of realms of possibility.

But even then

I’ll leave actual draft value of players to those who have read more than one article about the players
If you think that’s being obtuse then you’re too simple, ignorant or both to have a meaningful discussion with. You’ll find plenty of sympathisers on the Demons and North board, enjoy.

Ben King has agreed to a 2 year contract extension with GC - this was mentioned this week on the Tradies podcast (or maybe Gettable, can’t remember exactly)

This is what I have heard as well - that B.King is no longer interested in looking elsewhere since S.Dew was binned.

Don't know what the figures are in the contract renewal, but you would think it to be pretty sizeable. If D.Hardwick brings in some mature players during the trade period, the Sun's cap will surely then be under some strain.

Would definitely be sounding out A.Davies if he is willing to make a move.

Any Melbourne godfather offer would be heavily reliant on them outbidding WB for the pick 4. All the reports are the WB are desperate for it as well and have more to offer to get it.

As WCE_phil mentioned, the Bulldogs have one hand on pick 4 by offering picks 10 & 17 (2420 points) for it, as it now is becoming more likely that a bid on their F/S J.Croft will fall inside the top 10 and they want a selection before that bid occurs.

Oh we can't have the dogs complaining again about how much the father son picks have caused them drafting issues.

Hmm, so if North end up with Pick 11 you’d think they would have a crack at GC pick 4 for 11 and 16 (Port’s pick). That might explain why they’re making noise about the bids as this would be a handy negotiation tactic for them.

If they end up with Pick 2,3,4 I doubt they’d bother with Reid. Surely having those picks will set them up for years to come…

At guess then, where does that leave Curtin (8-12?) and what picks would be on the table for us to get him?

And if you had a choice of Murphy or Curtin who would you take?

Van Rooyan is pretty good. Right about Smith as leader. I was just saying they jave a few options already and there issues were more about entries.
I think youre really underestimating how much impact a good KPF makes. JVR is still a second year player, smith is just not good enough. Its a structure thing, and gives them a target, the dees would know that JVR most likely isnt gonna beat his defender. Makes it hard to just kick it to him

Maybe for most clubs, but aren't we pretty in love with Curtin?
I would love to know if we are or not. Wouldn't surprise me if we spoke to him once and the Vics jumped on that, to try and talk us out of Reid.
Or the VIC media probably just did their usual in depth investigation and realized Curtain had WA written next to his name.

This is because it is now becoming increasingly likely that a bid on Croft comes just before their first pick.

So Essendon or Adelaide. Going with conjecture around here about where you may likely get your info from I will assume Essendon.

If Nth don’t get #3 (or do, but rate O’Sullivan higher than Curtin by that stage) Curtin could well slide.

Reid, McKercher, O’Sullivan, Duursma, can’t see dogs or Melb taking Curtin. So it would be GWS/Adelaide picks as his range. Depending on what they want that is actually a range we could look at trading into.

It’d be 2,3,5 in that scenario

Hawthorn have the pick between North and Gold Coast

Pick 11 for North plus an over valued compensation pick (3) for a B-grade defender is a joke

They’re in the position they are because of their own mismanagement not bad luck or circumstances out of their control. Suck it up and fight your way through it instead of begging every year

If Curtin is a chance to slide past 6 and we are keen on him.. what do we need to do to get a pick in that range?? Ideally we trade live picks draft night to make it happen but can't see how unless it's like pick 6-10 plus swap of future firsts

Wish the Kangaroos would just **** right off.

Sick of their tin rattling handout scab tactics. Every year rinse and repeat.

You already got the 2 Vic Metro crybabies from last year courtesy of some borderline draft tampering FFS.

You then got gifted assistance package picks last year, which you've used to bring in some players. You've also got Alistair Clarkson.... what else do you want?

You aren't an expansion club, you're a Vic based club in a football state with a long history, so crying about Fold Coast, GWS and Sydney getting handouts previously is just dumb.

Just fold and do us all a favour already. Too many minnow basket case clubs in Victoria the rest of the AFL is carrying.

Pick 19 and F2 (19-22) would be about right on points, just going to depend on other clubs draft intentions/needs.

I think you’re being a bit generous with the b grade.

Would take a bit of improvement on O'Sullivan's part since pre season, Curtin beat him in all athletic metrics (although WA testing is notoriously faulty)

So North don't get Sanders, but get pick 11 to use on Sanders...

Any argument to split pick 1 is losing even more ground as the draft becomes increasingly tampered.

F**k North. Time to give Gold Coast a call and say we won't bid on Walter if we get pick 10 for 19+38.

Then use pick 10 on Sanders.

Surely overs (3) for McKay is enough of a hand out for North?

Why another first rounder? Not having enough first round kids on their list isn't the issue!
This will piss me off. Just placing an arbitrary pick before 5 or 6 teams, and handing them a position to potentially gazump other clubs to GCS's pick.

They've already got a top end midfield in the making. Let them do it themselves. And if they can't, f them off.

Agreed.

I think AFL assistance for clubs should be more along the lines of a temporary raising of the soft cap so that they can attract the best people for their coaching staff and football departments. The issues with clubs like North long term are systemic.

Adelaide really needs mids, surely they don't pass on Sanders if he makes it that far.

I could see a 3 way trade like this. disclaimer anyone that suggests we trade down from 1 has brain cancer and should be taken out the back and shot

WCE out: 1, 21, 37
WCE in: 3, 5, 11

Norf out: 3, 11, 18
Norf in: 1

GC out: 5
GC in: 18, 21, 37

We essentially turn 1 into 3 and 5 and 21 and 37 into 11. GC can turn 18 and 21 into more points or flip those picks for future assets. Walter not being bid on until 4 saves them a lot.

1. Reid
2. McKercher
3. Duursma
4. Walter
5. Watson
6. Curtin

11. Best of Murphy/Wilson/Windsor
