Warner is an Willetton/East Freo boy with family and friends still around, presumably...

It's easier to get to Lathlain (and obviously Cockburn) from SOR

Why would he even care about the golden triangle? It's not like he could buy whatever house he chooses there either.
Nobody under 40 cares about the golden triangle anyway

I've been trying to stay off the booty for a bit now that we have had a draft, a while ago WCE_phil you said you might be able to shed some extra insight into tommy b leaving.
Should, I didn't find it with a search. Did I miss it, or if you haven't posted can you now?

You must be joking. By crikey you must have a very fragile sense of self belief.

At nearly 9pm when there is SFA to draw people to BigFooty, Keys gets on his high horse to make a statement. Traffic on BigFooty likely to be nearly zero for the next 8 hours.

Lo and behold, the smart arsed Headmaster from Queensland decides to get on his soap box while we are all asleep. Sounds like you are claiming to be right all along and validated by a moderator and not challenged since most are asleep.

You have asked why I sometimes dislike your posts. I think you just demonstrated why.

For a person that has not played the game, not coached or been employed in club development, not been employed in list management, and not been an agent, you sure are good at giving absolute certain and guaranteed opinions.
I’m used to reading Obeanie1 posting at 5am WA time. Starting to think he’s based in Vic atm.

And I definitely don’t work in education.

An opinion is just an opinion. You gave one, I disagreed. You got upset I disagreed.

You & Obeanie1 got a bit personal in your replies, so yeah I get a bit narky back.

I believe it’s common sense that no team is going to trade for Allen if the compensation pick is a top 4 pick.

The alternative from my perspective is, at best, 3 first round picks from a top 8 team, with WC sending second round and later picks back.

What percentage of posters here have played the game? What level is acceptable?

Does having a kickabout with actual AFL players when you’re 6 count?

Not sure how playing the game makes a difference in posting an opinion on BigFooty.

As for the rest, working professionally at AFL level, well there’s probably only 2 or 3 percent of posters here who have.

Playing footy and working at an AFL club would be two very different things. I expect few players sit in on list management stuff.

I'll release some of my private message conversations or at least parts of them later on next year. You're honestly not that far off the mark.

Well at whatever level you can go into, what sort of shifts do you expect in the drafting team going forward from this, in approach, personnel types etc? Interestingly enough, given this seems like a pretty big overhaul, it basically leaves Massey as the sole presence from long-time old guard and yet he's the head honcho. What will the dynamic be like there?

Should move to Ellenbrook. Can catch the train to training.

Any interest in Derek Hine seeing he’s left Collingwood?

From the announcement that we had moved on three of our long term and most experienced recruiters

“After an assessment of the List Management and Recruiting structure which was finalised after the recent AFL Draft, new roles were identified to progress the club into the next level of data analytics as well as draft strategy and player movement,” Head of Football John Worsfold said.

Now, no disrespect to Hine but do you think it fits the above description

We also have a list manager and recruiting manager who are just settling in to their respective roles so aren’t likely to be replaced any time soon. Hine would then need to come in at a lower level if he was to join the club

So it’s doubtful

Scenario I've made up in my head. Pyke wanted to overhaul recruitment to be more modern and data-driven as opposed to a bunch of old blokes circle jerking to the U16 performances of HBFs. Got pushback from the establishment. Brought on Woosha as his rottweiler. Nek minnut recruitment team sacked and Woosha's talking up data analytics.

Keen af.

It may be a scenario that you've come up with, but to further the comment from WCE_phil, it actually lines up fairly well with things I have heard.

D.Pyke coming in from experiences at Adelaide and Sydney where recruiting analytics have been focussed upon heavily for many years now, only to see the Eagles haven't moved in the decade since he was last around the club.

Decides that things need to change and brings J.Worsfold in to be the hammer to knock things into shape.

Yeah it really was odd hearing worsfold mention analytics. It’s a bit like my 90 year old grandmother talking about AI. Just doesn’t fit. It’s probably average age of our recruitment team, only dragged down by nisbett’s age.

Onya pykey. Now get someone that can negotiate during trade period.

Good call. Add to that Clarke would know well the Tigers arrangements with Worsfold seeing Essendon. I’m not sure on the Drug Rats but heard Tigers well ahead of us on analytics

Crows and Swans haven’t had a great hit rate either with first round picks….. well pretty poor really for both.
