Having to watch Owies spud it up in the seniors while Dewar plays WAFL is a grim thought but also likely the reality.
Look I’m not a massive owies fan, but he’s our best small forward option by a mile. 60 goals and 25 goal assists in the last two seasons. If we are playing fast to our key forwards he’s the type we need at their feet

If Rayner/McCluggage is an elite kick then half the league is, the standard was that Maric isn’t considered an elite kick. Given this I’d agree with Coleman and Fletcher.

Come on guys, give Brizplain a break, I mean if being equal 472nd (with Jack Darling I might add) in the league in kicking efficiency isn't considered elite then I don't know what is

I hope that Owies doesn't already have an automatic spot sewn up but will have to earn his place.
A 3 year contract may seem to work against that idea, but it's the same contract length as Flynn, who also won't be a walk up start.

You will be more than happy to watch a lazy and unfit Ryan playing each week though won’t you?

He once dropped Rayner into a sentence with Dustin Martin and Petracca. There wasn't enough words in the English language for him to successfully mansplain that one.

Unfortunately i've got to admit the Rayner meme is less effective now he's strung together some decent games in a premiership winning team :sadv1:

He had 8 touches and 6 clangers for a total of 8 ranking points in the semi final hehehe.

The bloke is as hot/cold as they come, particularly for a pick 1. 2025 was his best season to date by the numbers, and it still only ends up being 15D and 1 goal a game.

Bit of Shai Bolton about him. Hot/cold match winner, only difference is Bolton was a pick 29.

I've been reading all the comments about elite kicking but for me it's winning the contest that counts.

It's those players like Harley Reid and Eliot Yeo that make the difference. Call it hard ball gets or contested footy, it's the ability to win the contest, one on one or one on two, that makes an elite midfielder.

That's what we need.

Brisbane carved up Sydney with the contested marking and contest work and spread in the grand final. Non of the players traded in are good kicks I expect us to be quite fustrated with it

Owies will be given first crack and an extended one at that. I just don’t see in any world that Owies was traded in for depth.

Same goes for anyone doing b22 with Graham as depth.

All three recruits, barring injury, will play every game.
Owies will probably be first choice but it's not like we used a halfway decent pick for him so yeah it would be entirely possible he was traded in to be a small forward option not our cyril
