FWIW it is 100% correct of some issues in the club.

Gov and Kelly’s huge contracts have caused a lot of financial grief and there are issues amongst the club with Simmo and his reluctance to change some things up.

That said there is excitement about the appointments of Schofield and Knights

This is from Duffield so take it with as many grains of salt as you like;

Recently on his podcast he said that when McFatty got his huge deal Yeo changed his manager. At the time he had the same manager as Gov, but has since returned to him, so whatever...

Do we really owe him $ if he is walking out on the club? Sheesh.

“I don’t want to be here but please continue to pay me, bye”

Truth is he can hold us to ransom.
Drinks, parties, sits on his arse on the oval eating Hungry Jacks during training, etc. A contract is a contract, club can't terminate him for being unfit and shit during training drills.

Extreme example, but outcome not much different than a player who doesn't try but turns up anyway to get his $180k base salary.

It would be a breach of contract though. You cant just not turn up and expect to be paid.

I'm not sure anyone would be surprised though? That'll take Simmo to the end of his contract, a 10? year tenure. Kangas will have loaded up on talent and he might be lured back to where it all began.

Concerning for me is how Schoey and Simmo work together and how productive Simmo can be if he's looking over his shoulder.

And we also have Graham wanting to move to Freo with a year on his contract.

So why does he want out early?

For the same reason Schofield wanted to leave Port with a year on his contract - got a better offer?

It’s unfortunate that McGovern’s fat $6m contract seems to be causing issues at the club, given since getting that contract he’s been:
  • Suspended for pushing Guelfi into the fence
  • Suspended for punching Sexton
  • Fined for tripping Thomas
Would like to see him be a better leader

To be fair the Guelfi one was a complete ****ing stitch up though

How embarrassing that some on the list have faith in their lives or need to speak to someone outside of the coaching staff.
And I highly doubt the club chaplain is being paid out of the soft cap.

What a non-issue to focus on.

Hopefully with all this offseason change we can delist the club Chaplin. It’s extremely Embarrassing we have one.

Would only agree if noone avails themselves of the service he provides.

Im guessing by the fact he is actually there then he is of use to a number of players - and that's their right as free men to believe in whatever they want.
