Couldn't agree more on Dittmar, very disappointing we didn't take him. In a few years, he'll be a significant upgrade on West. Hopefully we watch him closely in first half of WAFL year and take him mid year.
I wanted to take Dittmar the National draft but passing him over after the train on and medicos review tells me we aren’t getting the full story

Can definitely see another big year of list turnover. 20 players out of contract!

Redden, Naitanui, Shuey - 1 year contracts from now on depending on injury. Retirement up to them like JK/Hurn this year
JK, Hurn - final year unfortunately for these club legends
Witherden, Jones, Edwards, Rioli - 2/3 year contracts likely
Trew - probably gone
Cole, Nelson - feel like 1 of these guys will ask for trade to Vic
Williams, Jamieson - don't think we can carry both of these guys. Does Bailey work in a trade for Luke Jackson?
Winder, West, Naish, Dixon, Joyce, Strnadica - all depends on 2022. At this stage could make a case to keep them all.
Good synopsis

I think if Shuey plays <10 games this will be his last year. As a result Redden goes another year. Nic Nat goes again for sure barring something unforseen
Surely they'll give Trew a chance to prove himself before turfing, given he's only on rookie list and not had a good run at it injury wise?

If people think sticking with Bailey Williams instead of getting English is smart list management they haven't been watching much footy.

English is streets ahead of where Bailey is. Very good around the ground ruck in general play. Sure centre square he isn't dominating the top rucks but he certainly breaks even with most at center square bounces.

Plus English still has improvement in him IMO.

I wouldn't pay top dollar or top picks for him but he would be the 2nd best ruck in our team right now, no debate at all.

Our 2nd plus Bailey is what I would offer. And Around $600-$650k pa.
Plus English has also shown he can regularly take marks and kick goals forward. Clearly an AFL standard player. Bailey, not so much.

Are we allowed to top up our top-up players?

Is it time to turn over and strength and conditioning staff? Third year running now we've been beset by injuries. And questionable management of said players. Yeo, Clark......

He got injured in a tackle ffs.

We've been playing and training on two of the hardest surfaces in the country for the past three years. As have Freo. And Freo's injury list has also been terrible since Optus came on line and they moved to a new ground too.

Not possible to get super fit when you are in rehab.

Both WA clubs have suffered with these new hard grounds. As have others. Remember Franklin, played at Optus and spent months recovering from an ankle injury picked up due to that surface.

Its the elephant in the room in this discussion.

Did WCE do their due diligence with Joyce and his injury history?...Obviously that late run of midfield injuries would of put some pressure on WCE list decision makers. Only asking because WCE MRP neighbour's the Perth Football club had a huge amount of injuries last year.....Quite surprised other mids like Rogers, Ramsay, Fisher, Baskerville didn't get some train on exposure...

Jack Carrol at the Blues has been getting mentions from Carlton fans.

He is one mid we should be targeting. 188cm and bulking up nicely. Will be a hard midfield to break int Carton's.

Wouldnt cost too much. 3rd rounder or Ports 2nd if he has a good debut year.
Trey Ruscoe would have been another one . He looks very much a player at Collingwood last year for a speculative late pick .

It seems we were looking for ready made players that could cover our injuries ..

Didnt Dittmar have lower back issues?

Pretty sure that is what would have tipped the scales. And thats fine.

The club keeps tabs on him, maybe offers to assist with a rehab program. When his back is ok and he starts ramping up to an AFL standard workload and does break down we can revisit him.

Mid season draft?

Top up player?

What’s that Stan Gibson bloke up to these days?

Morphed into a well paid AFLW player.
Secured a pretty lucrative contract.

Or maybe I am mistaken and it’s his sister.
