As soon as I saw the news article I knew peeps here would be disproportionately upset about some random rookie from Tassie that hasn't played a game.

Never change BigFooty Eagles board :rainbow:

Still plenty of dead wood to cut.

Not upset at all, just surprised considering we heard nothing about him all year.

Drafted him with known issues (he slid for a reason) he didn't even spend all that much time with the team and then gone first chance we get.

At least Treacy was obvious when he didn't even get a mention with our small fwd issues during the year.

😮 I thought O’Neill would have been kept.

All the others were IMO expected.

I think that will be the first cut, others will be cut after trade week.

Eastcoasteagle is going to be super pissed about MON being cut.

Don’t see an need for both Ainsworth and Hutchings.

Hutchings the better player ( I know not a high bar ) but his body is now shot.

Ainsworth is well Ainsworth = crapola.

Can’t help but feel that Ainsworth is still on our list as the recruiters and powers to be are wanting to save some face, with fingers crossed that he might come good.......as the ghosts of Worpol and Constable are haunting them.

Cruel business is AFL and this time of the year is always shitty time to see some good people cut.

Feel for those cut this season with out an opportunity to show their wares at the WAFL , Treacy and MON were always on a hiding to nothing, when the Beagles were cut.

Thanks to all who have now been delisted for their efforts and contribution to our Mighty Club and I wish them all the best going forward.

Ghosts of Constable??? Really??

If the list size is cut by 2, we'd still need to cut another 3-4 players. They would probably want 7-8 vacant spots at least. We had 7 list changes in the last 2 years.
Ainsworth, Ah Chee, Venables, Jones, Jetta, Hutchings and Vardy still uncontracted.

I know it's a hilarious running joke, but no one genuinely thinks Ainsworth is getting delisted this year?

The guy was picked in our 22 for our EF with us only a couple of players down from full strength.

He isn't getting delisted this year. Zero chance despite how much some want it.
I'd have Francis's Knee over Ainsworth's brain any day

Well I mean he's contracted anyway so....

A promising junior CV ... that every club ignored multiple times.

Meh. If he gets another shot and becomes a good player then good for him, feel free to bump my comments, but Partington has an even better CV (B+F at East Perth, Magarey Medalist) and no one wants him either.

He was a rookie that didn't pan out. No biggie.
Well now he is free to go and play for Samoa when they get their own AFL Team.

I'd personally keep Jones, Ah Chee and Ainsworth.
Ah Chee and Ainsworth delist material in 2021.
DV is probably done, writing seemingly already on the wall for Jetta, while Hutch has been apparently been overtaken by Ainsworth. Vardy...well it depends on if Hickey is traded.

I am really annoyed the WAFL Eagles are no more. Thought we finally had the perfect set up with AFL, WAFL and AFLW sides all based at the best facilities in the state, perfect development environment :(

Apparently the million it cots per year is to expensive for us???? 60 million in bank we have yes?
Seriously though list size changes make it to hard to have your own side. It will return in time but in the meantime having players shared at WAFL clubs while not perfect still gives them good development playing real games and having to perform.

So if we could, should we go hard at getting Cripps here to finish out his career playing with his mates and Cuzz??

Pros - BBIMFWBLF, Will make our midfield complete. Nic Nat will finish his career spoilt for choice who to Tap/Flip/Palm the ball to.

Con's - COST, possibly becoming injury prone and being the Carlton one man pinball for the past few years his body may not make it much past 30.

At the right cost both in his salary and draft picks/player it is a no brainer.

Have the impression that every club on draft day (including West Coast) knew M.O'Neill's back was probably shot, hence why he slid so far from where he was previously being touted as a likely second round pick in the national draft.

That he was the very last player without an existing relationship with a club to be selected in the rookie draft speaks volumes really.

The club picked him up in the small hope that his injury would not be as bad as feared - unfortunately that wasn't the case, which leaves delisting as the option that is left.

MON - not sure how recovered he every got. He arrived injured and had back and other issues so it may well have been a medico call. We will probably never hear.

Hammer - showed in one game he has heart but not enough pace. Kind of like the Corleon family - the middle son was never destined to greatness.

Frank - he will play no or very little football in 2021 so no surprise.

Treacy - speculative pick but as soon as we went deep into small forwards and he was not in contention, kind of guessed he would go.

Reid - really good Beagle. I hope Claremont pick him up.

Claremont: A. Waterman: out, N. Reid: in?

Treacy was questionable as a pick-up from the get-go. Barely lit the WAFL on fire.
