Daniel Chick disagrees
but Chicky was all kinds of screwed loose. Now if only Brayden was brave enough to cut off his dodgy digit. Then we might have a better version

2021 list lodgement is going to be interesting.

"Rebuild rewire, replumb, refit"

Hurn
Kennedy
Hutchings
Vardy
Ah Chee
Foley
Ainsworth

^ Potentially gone.

Brander (Will be a trade candidate if he doesn't break in this year)
Venables (God knows)
Rioli (God knows)

Additionally O'Neil, Johnson, Redden & Nelson will be out of contract i believe.
And that's it.

Next year it is not inconceivable that we will have a list turnover of 10+.

It really would have made sense to lose a couple of old, injured, shot, best long gone guys this year. Guys that are so far down in depth that if we reach them our season is shot anyway and we might as well have tried to find a cheap gem in this draft.

What have I missed with these nicknames and band camp?

And truck me sideways are we the nicest club in the land and hang onto list cloggers year on year.

Wait what happened? What is the prohibited nickname?

The name Ainsworth was being referred to as, also another name for a certain part of human anatomy

I see. I thought it was mostly used without ill intent or in a derogatory manner, though.

Anyway I never used it so no biggie (pun intended), just curious as to what happened.

By all means be critical of a players performances and everyone has a right to opinions that include 'player x is a spud and should be delisted'. But I just cannot go with derogatory abuse of our own. That turns us into people like those that are the feral supporter elements of clubs we rightly look down upon as low-life scum.

And I'm with Biggie, just not on for us to call one of our own things like that.

I accept that you never used it, but do have to ask the question...

How could it possibly not be seen as derogatory? If it was you or your kid being called that, how would you feel?

fair call by the mods I reckon. Passed its use by date.
Well past.

Started off as just a play on his name and in no way related to his ability. At some point it became a nickname that was intended to describe his ability.

Righto

We, the Mods, have had a gutful of a certain nickname.

Show a little respect to one of our own, that has been blessed enough to earn the right to wear the Wings.

If it happens again, you can have a day off. No exceptions.

Cheers

Biggie & the Mod team
Haven't been here for a few days, but reading the follow up it easy to see what the name is, ABOUT Bloody time. Disrespectful to the young man. Grow up children.

Is it just me that thinks Witherdens kicking could be a bit overrated. I need an extended highlights package of him breaking a game open with his kicking to be that convinced. I've seen the same 4 or 5 kicks and two or three goals which aren't really on the same level as Jetta.

Drafting rookies will achieve the same. It doesn't matter who is on the rookie list - if there are 6 rookies, then we have maximised the amount we can pay outside the cap.

It matters depending where you are at list wise and if you are contending.

If you are contending you use the rookie list to provide depth of experienced role players or an aging gun who can actually help the squad win a premiership. You still get the same cap relief but it isnt for 6 kids who may never play.

Better short term investment, lower risk but more predictable.

The post I was replying to was suggesting we move an existing senior player onto the rookie list to save money. I was just pointing out that we would save the same amount of money regardless of where our fifth and sixth rookies came from.

Which is a separate issue/point to the one you raise. And I don’t necessarily disagree with what you’ve said.

So when Ainsworth plays a bad game (like usual) I'm not allowed to call him Diarrhoea anymore?😭😭

Why don't you go watch a Brisbane game that he played in then?

Well, Ainsworth on the list for at least the next season. Hope he tears it up.

Drafted as a contested mid if I recall correctly? Hope we give him a chance to make it rather than paying as a flanker, at either wafl or in the 22.

Don't even know what the Nickname was but that seems like an amazing accidental slip 😂

Not actually what I was here for though, what's your senior list size at and how many picks you think you guys are gonna use this year ?

Looking like 2 picks in national draft
