I try to be as open-minded as possible about political/social issues, listen to all sides, and not judge anyone negatively if they have different views about a subject, law, or individual than I do. But fu** me, there's no compromise with anyone against McGowan on this. It simply isn't a political issue. Our economy and health are going fine. If we open up, both are in trouble.
That fat shit palmer - if he does force the border open is going to find he wont be able to come.

There will be a lynch mob waiting for him.....

Looked at their facebook page today and their biggest problem is finding a rope strong enough to hold the fat c#%% that is pliable enough to make a noose out of....

and good on them. I hope WA says no, too, especially if Palmer opens the border. We can't afford to have an outbreak from a footy game.

WA are safe.
Unlike SA and QLD they don't need to worry about people sneaking past the borders from NSW and Vic.

Probably, especially given the AFL’s reluctance to seriously consider WA and SA as final hubs.

I think that’s more to do with those state government’s quarantine requirements, isn’t it?

Are you in the lynch mob waiting for Kerry Stokes as well ?.

Seems like he can come and go as he pleases.

Kerry stokes goes - and then comes home and goes into private 14 day iso.

im not a huge fan of rich fkxs getting their own rules but he isnt trying to force the border open to all and sundry.

clive wants to come and go with no quarantine at all

Hindsight suggests the requests weren’t unreasonable. The AFL was as arrogant as most Australians and thought she’d be right, that they didn’t need to be the ones to make any accommodations. The question becomes, will it’s own hubris prevent it form admitting it was wrong or are they willing to tank the season to avoid doing so.

Stuck between risking shutdown from covid in queensland and the knowledge that west coast have one hand on the cup if they hold it in wa....

must be killing them - especially the all important crowds and money argument we get told all the time are the only metrics they care about....

I reckon will be in a version of lockdown now until at best November
I am hopeful they close every business (other than essential services like supermarket, hospital, chemist, police, ambulance, fire brigade - not sure there's anything else?) this week sometime for 6 weeks, unless you can WFH you shouldn't be working. This would include construction and trades so not sure how the government will pay these people as they are on huge coin.

If they do this after 6 weeks we should be down to under 5 cases per day IMO

I’m wondering, does AFL360 have to shut down? Can they keep doing pre and post match in the Melbourne studio? Because really, they aren’t essential in terms of food or services. Will be interesting tomorrow.

Not a question of if it was reasonable and I’m not clear on what the AFL were wrong about.

Do teams have to quarantine each time they come into WA?

Will Clive Palmer win in the High Court re hard border border issue and section 92 of the constitution?

In my opinion, Yes.

The High Court has accepted that states can limit the free intercourse between states but only if they are reasonable and imposed for a legitimate end, such as protecting the public from a dangerous disease.

So is the limitation both legitimate and reasonable?

Legitimate? Hell yes

Resonable? Almost certainly not.

So if WA does not make the border closure more balanced, than I consider they will be rolled in the High Court.

Does this mean they are powerless? No

Let Clive in, let him get 10 metres in & put him in quarantine. In a desert camp paid for from his pocket for 2 weeks plus everytime he enters the state. More than one way to skin this fat cat.
