Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

Guys forget trading our backs, you have to be patient. We will have Grimes and Westhoff and Post so maybe Moore could go. Goudis could be our answer down back. We need 2 more midfielders, no we don't, Contin, Gilligan, Hicks and O'Reilly are looking better by the week, so 1 mid, Key position back and forward. Graham is not going anywhere, neither are Browne or Vickery a spare ruckman would'nt go astray.
Darling/Gaff pick 1
Pick 27 and 28 key position players.
Promote Hicks, Goudis, Contin, O'Reilly Roberts and the long suffering Gilligan.
Thats 8 changes
Simmo, King, Hislop, McMahan, Polak, Thomson, Tuck, Cousins and who?
I'd keep Tuck unless a really, really good trade can be made. Thomson and Hislop would be unlucky. Cousins is a keeper. Polak could still impress in right position.King well he's Kingy.
Its not going to be easy is it and what if we give awaya gun or two?

we dont need to upgrade all our rookies. 1 or 2 if we think they are going to be part of the future, then the ones that we think might need a few more years to get the right body keep on the rookie list.

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

I dunno ... but we were playing the best footy this club has played for nearly 30 years just 12 months later

Newman is an "under the odds" captain , and i'll admit its foolish to pass judgement when one is not deep within the bowels RFC ... but if the right offer came up .

We also traded a "spiritual leader" in Chris Bond pretty successfully , but i will admit the cost is something that is pretty immeasureable.

You never know ... Martin , Cotch , lids etc might sit around the club s******ing amongst themselves about Newman and what a spud of a captain he is ... Joe idiot on the street just would not know about these machinations
But he's just not a spud of a captain. He's a tremendous onfield leader, I don't know why people under rate him so much. I reckon he's a hugely popular figure around the club and realistically, who else do we have? He's our only decent leader over the age of 21. Deledio isn't a captain and he never will be. Cotch and Riewoldt are a few years away. Jackson, Tuck and Moore aren't up to scratch.

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

The RFC is going to have to think creatively and use all available resources to bring talent to our club. So good on Ray the Liar for having a dip even if it is bizarre, unrealistic and laughable.

Chris Newman for pick 7 LMFAO. Did Scott Clayton hire Greg Beck to be his mentor?

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

Just load up on young talent. Pick 4, 26 &27 and then hopefully 4,6 and 27 next year would mean that we would have a mint side running around by the end of 2012 with huge amount of taletn.

That would then mean come 2012 trade period we will be looking like challenging within the next 3 years and IMO alot of big names would want to be on baord the beast that is Richmond and is about to awaken. Would be a great place to be at....

Would love in 3 years time to go after Dangerfield or even a older players like Hodge and Bartel...for example!

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

...good on Ray the Liar...

Liar? I suppose you'll run away from backing that up like you run away from every debate you get flogged in.

Why've you been away so long...did you get cocky and speak to someone face to face like you do on the internet?

bizarre, unrealistic and laughable.

Not even 1% as bizarre, unrealistic and laughable as you spending years bashing the club for not picking imaginary great draftees...

'We should have taken ten extra players every draft.'

'Can you name one player taken after the last pick we did have that you'd be happy to have on our list?'

'Well, no - but that's not the point.'

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

I wont reveal who my source is - but I've been dead on with Richmond trade info in the past (see: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=635588 ).

I have heard that RFC have promised Veszpremi more game time and 'exposure' (perhaps media?) than what he has been receiving in Sydney. He's understood to be homesick and frustrated with playing for the reserves in a substandard league.

RFC are also 'keeping an eye on': Jackson Trengove and Travis Boak from Port Adelaide... and Bachar Houli (Essendon)

But there is no way you could pull off a trade for all of them.

I'll keep you posted as I find out more.
Also in contact with the management of "the very unsettled" Chris Knights from Adelaide.

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

Im almost 99% certain Vespremi will be a Tiger next year. Hes literally packed his bags as it is. Been promised more gametime, more midfield time and more money. What else could he possibly want? Probably only take a 2nd rounder to get it over the line too you would imagine

Thanks for the info C4 :)

Just to make sure C4 doesnt get attacked or shot down, I have heard from someone, whose opinion I trust, that C4 is very reliable.

Ps. Knights would be a bloody good get!

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

Yeah C4 has been spot on in the past and I for one appreciate his insights.

Big Cox has suggested Morton is all but gone.

I wouldn't midn Vezpremi for 2nd rounder and then Morton for Knights...fair trade???

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

TBH I havnt heard anything about Chris Knights but I find it hard to comprehend given the fact he can pretty much get as much money as he likes down at Adelaide. Probably using the Tigers as a tool in contract negotiations.

I do know Bachar Houli is on the outer at Essendon but given the problems in his game (ie a lazy plodder) I cant see Hardwick doing cartwheels for him.

Correct. C4 is one we should take seriously.

On the other hand be very careful reading Big Cox's posts. Take them with a grain of salt in fact. His "news" is rarely right.

i.e. Nicoski to Richmond: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=630716
Jonathon Griffin to Sydney: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=623328
And then there was the thread I can't find about JON where he rubbished us and told all and sundry JON would be a superstar for the Eagles this year.
I think those three things say enough.

Vezpremi should be a 3rd rounder at the very best. He is showing nothing for Sydney and trade value would be plummeting.

I would jump at Morton for Knights. :thumbsu:

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

The ideal scenario for me.

Morton for a second rounder to be on traded for Vezpremi. Use our other 2nd rounder for Knights but maintain our the 2nd round priority pick to use on a youngster from us winning 4 games or less.

We better not trade a 2nd rounder for anyone other than a ruckman. No way would I do Morton for Knights. If Morton pulls his finger out he's a star.

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

Look I agree Morton is a star if he pulls his finger out and I think I have defended him the most on the tiger board, however if you can trade him for quality like Knights then you would jump at it.

Vezpremi for 2nd rounder as he is rated highly at Sydney still and was pick 11 I think.

Knights wouldn't be done for a 2nd rounder I don't think, he killed it last year. Morton for Knights is a very fair trade...

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

Well if he is picking up rumours before they come about in the media he might be onto something.

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

This thread is heading off the rails.

I do know your 100% spot on about Vezpremi but it wouldnt surprise me if interest crept in elsewhere. Still given the coinage on offer its hard to see anyone but Richmond winning the race. Its about as guaranteed as a trade is gonna be by Round 8

Re: Craig Cameron says we will be trading. What would be your strategy?

C4 what are the chances of Sydney letting Vezpremi go considering he is contracted.

Very high but you wouldnt take the risk nor would Roos himself.. Gold Coast would just snap him up as a bargain pickup and neither Richmond or he would want that to happen.

You may be 16th but never has it had so little trading power

Thats a hard one for me to answer.

I know he's homesick and he is very close to his mother (raised by his single mother). I also know he is frustrated with lack of game time up North, and I know that Richmond have spoken to his manager about the possibility of having Pat move to Punt Road.

But thats as far as my knowledge goes - the rest is really in Sydney's hands from here and I have no idea what they would expect in exchange or what the chances are that they would want to trade him off. I need to find a source in the Sydney camp ;)

Sorry mate, I know it's a bit of a nothing answer.

Lol mate your contradicting yourself. You said it is a good as a done deal by round 8, but now you suggest that he might go to GC.

We could offer a second rounder which would be a bargain for this talented kid, however considering he is playing ressies at the moment it is probably his market value.
