He will play if he's physically fit enough as per DoedeeWill BJ be good enough to earn a place in the SANFL side in 2017? He didn't even play reserves in 2016, or played a handful of games at best. Could he follow Doedee's path, from early 2016, not playing SANFL until the coaches determined that he was up to it? Doedee was far more advanced than BJ is, at the equivalent time, so BJ could be waiting a lot longer before making his SANFL debut.

Yep, he was in Strikers squad last year, started training full time in Feb??Could very well be the case.
I suspect he will slot into the Eddie Betts cagey small forward role in 2-3-4 years personally...and personally I don't think he's a longshot to make it either, all he's really lacking is the physical development currently. That's my opinion and I'll stand by it until such times as I'm proven wrong by performance.Jarman will play SANFL all year for his development, he is a rookie making it a long shot if he makes it, I see it as an enormopus bonus if he does, but wouldnt be making any bets on him making it, unless I got great odds, which I would need for obvious reasons

Link?Betting odds would tell me diifferent and we all know Money talks, wouldnt mind an exotic bet on it, will get seriously good odds, and if you are confident he will make it, would give you an excellent opportunity to make some good coin.
Link?
I might have a serve at these seriously good odds you talk of....

I haven't heard that but most of the stand alone VFL sides are struggling financially, locally the North Ballarat Roosters are really struggling even though they have a very profitable club premises with Bar, Restaurant, Pokies etc and I hear it's the same at Port Melbourne so KG could be on the money though the costs would be substantial.Apparently KG on MMM this morning said we will be playing in the VFL next year, anyone hear that? Besides not getting to see them it would be good to clear up this mess.

If the Crows SANFL side goes the Power reserves side has to go as wellI have heard the talk but so far all I have heard is from pub talk around a few beers. And more around certain supporters not wanting the AFL in the SANFL some of which are high-profile.
Part of me wants the Crows and Port to go into the VFL just so those people who have been arguing for it to happen can get a reality check and find out first hand just how bad it would be for the SANFL.
Having a third brand of Footy in SA would be diabolically bad for the SANFL. If Port and Crows VFL games are going head to head against the SANFL for interest and sponsorship dollars it's not going to bode well for the SANFL in the long term.
It will create a domino effect.
How long would 7 then persist with the SANFL telecasts before opting for the Crows and Port VFL games to be shown.
If the Crows and Port go chasing sponsorship dollars for their VFL teams to help with the increase in funds required to play in the VFL then you could argue that those sponsorship dollars may be coming to VFL to the detriment of the SANFL clubs.
Without ties to their traditional SANFL clubs holding them back, how many people would then feel far more inclined to support the Crows reserves. Suddenly for a Norwood or Sturt supporter games like Crows V Collingwood etc start to become more appealing once they're no long bound by their SANFL loyalties.
While the SANFL supporters may not like the AFL reserves teams concept I think having them in the SANFL and under strict control of the SANFL allows them to be kept in check. Sending them to the VFL will cannibalise the footy market in SA.

Port won't go to the VFL unless they are kicked out of the SANFL. It costs them nothing to play in the SANFL and they get to have home games where they take the money from the gate and from food and drink sales. If they went to the VFL they wouldn't be the magpies, they would be the power, so they'd either have to kill off the magpies which would piss off a lot of their supporters or run a reserves side and the magpies which would cost them a bit.
If the AFL are creating a spot for the Crows they will also be telling the Power they are moving, remember the AFL can control Port as they have underwritten them financially
I doubt the AFL will be doing anything. If we go to the VFL it will be negotiated between the AFC and the VFL, we will have to pay them enough to make it worth their while to include us and either pay enough to cover the costs of all teams travelling to SA, or never play a home game and travel every week.
