Don't think I'm even able to watch this one on tv :( Edit: Working a long way from a TV with foxtel unfortunately :(

Do we have some BF scouts going to the game? Will be very interesting

Mobile or tablet on AFL app

Need help here.
If I sign up for a weekly AFL pass on the 20th for $4.99, With the 2 weeks free pass, That should cover all the NAB games, from the 20th to the 12th of March meaning I miss out on the 19th Feb games,
What I don't know is does the free week come first then you start to pay, and is there a min sign up for a weekly subscription.
Cannot attend any nab games this year 1st time, And don't like Foxtel coverage vs cost.
Or is the club working on a package with the AFL.

You can cancel it straight after that game but it may work for 2 weeks.

I watched one of the last games of "15 and forgot to cancel it till about 4 weeks ago. Whoops

Well I'll be there folks. Bought a ticket in the Jack Oatley stand for me and the mrs.
$30 in the stand, $20 GA. Mine was only $10 as I upgraded from my membership.

Not expecting too much from either side. Start with a decent hitout before ramping it up towards round 1.

Simmo has said we will play all the kids that the coaches want to have a look at this game. When we get back to Perth we will play a more set 22 and have some fun mucking around with structures against Essendon.

Here's a proposed team from one of the members from our board.

Bennell Barrass Brown
Nelson McGovern Cole
Jetta Hutchings Lucas
Partington Lamb McGinnity
Karpany Allen McInnes

Giles Duggan Shuey(c)

Brophy Butler Snadden Colledge Adamson Tunbridge

I thought Bennell went to Freo.
Shows how much attention I pay to the opposition.

Similar story. I set it up on my wife's email last year when we were out of town - to get the two weeks free on a "new" account - and as I used my business bank account when I registered I didn't notice the extra $ coming out each week. Realised at the end of the year that we had paid $5 per week for 25 weeks :-( I tried for a refund but no luck. D'oh. My fault.

This year I am just buying the $110 AFC Digital membership and being done with it.

If Cameron and knight don't pull up for round 1 these two would be locks of fit wouldn't they?

Not convinced with Knight. Not whether he's got the talent required, but whether he'd quite gotten to the point where poor form from him in the NAB whilst the next bloke in line sizzles wouldn't see him working back via the SANFL.

Would have thought all 3 would be in round 1 team if fit. However I get what your saying, I think if he showed enough in at least 1 game in NAB that he would be there come round 1. His ability to get up and down the ground is elite, something Menzel wont bring at this stage.

What is the surface like at Unley?
A bigger issue is the size of the ground. It was always the smallest of the suburban ovals. I don't think it would be conducive to implementing strategies that require any space for example. It might however be good practice for playing at the SCG. It might be a pretty community park, but it's certainly sub par for spectating come footy time.

I expect the AFL to have kicked in some coin to upgrade it to a NAB Challenge standard, but in the past it's been notorious as one of the worst SANFL surfaces. Not as bad as it was about 10-12 years ago (when the SANFL were forced to move underage games from the ground, and the pockets were basically 'mud'), but still pretty ordinary.

Alistair Clarkson apparently had to pick dog poo off the ground prior to a Reserves match back in the day too!

I believe Glenelg is actually smaller. When the SANFL had the state game there a few years ago, the WAFL officials apparently measured the 50 metre arcs there, and they're actually only 45 metres!

We should play Tex in the middle. Reckon he'd slot one from the centre square with a favourable breeze.

I remember they've done that previously. Westies got $40-$50K to put in new goal posts and air conditioning for the coaches boxes back in '14 when we played the Power there in a preseason game.

Yeah every ground gets at least new goal posts, though the AFL is now expecting the local club to co-contribute to the AFL-required upgrades for NAB Challenge matches.

Thought it time to have one of these. With the lack of info coming out of the club and the closed training sessions, we may not have a lot to say.
One thing I do know, the game looks like a sellout. Seems to be more interest in this NAB Cup than the last couple. I reckon I got the last ticket in the Jack Oatey stand this arvo.
Roll on game time. I look forward to the composition of the team under Pykey and seeing a few unfamiliar faces on the field.
So I'm guessing you won't be able to just rock up on the day?

Ah shit, at least it's live on Fox.

It looks like there are still general admission tickets for sale, I think members just have to pay the booking fee or a small upgrade fee? not 100% sure. I think it is just the free turn up on the day entry that won't be available as it looks like it will sell out.

I got the last single ticket in the Jack Oatey stand after my mate finally decided he couldn't go. I think there are still GA tickets available to members. You have to pay a fee--6 bucks I think and a download fee of 3.50 or something to print out your own tickets (Ticketick ripoff).
It's going to be like Glenelg when Tex made his comeback.

You can just pay for a week - just make sure you cancel it at the end, or it'll auto-pay every week.

You can get an extra two weeks free by creating a team - https://fantasy.afl.com.au - and complete setting up a full league. It's actually pretty fun.

The first 5,000 league commissioners to create and complete their AFL Fantasy Classic or Elite league by 23:59 (AEDT) on February 28, 2016 will receive an extended free trial of AFL Live Pass ending April 26, that commences when the AFL Live Voucher is activated. If the user does not cancel the subscription prior to the 26th April, it will automatically roll on to a paid weekly subscription charging the user at $4.99 a week thereafter. The extended free trial of AFL Live Pass is valued at $24.95 (including GST).

Not sure how it works exactly but I'd do your free trial first and then pay for whatever extra time you need when you've used it up.

I think it might just be easier to watch on Fox Footy rather than cram into the ground.
