Another faultless tipping performance last week with 5/5. A few harder games this week though. Hopefully the results fall in the warriors favour!!!

Eltham v Peninsula. The turtles will be looking to attune for their disappointing loss to Glen Eira last week, but face a very hard task in Peninsula, the ladder leaders. Eltham are a 5 goal better side (at least) at home, but I think the Pirates have too much class in Rees, Payze and Coglan, and will win by 34 points.

Williamstown v Banyule. Game of the round easily. Very interesting that both these teams, who sit 3rd and 2nd respectively, are coming off losses. Not often do you see that. Shows you just how close our competition is.

Banyule’s spot in the four is pretty safe, but Williamstown will be eager to clear themselves of the fast finishing sides such in Old Paradians and Old Westbourne. Banyule’s injury list is starting to take its toll it seems, and beating Willy at the Fearon is hard to do with your best team. Willy will bounce back for mine with a 25-point win.

Ivanhoe v Old Paradians. Ivanhoe had an absolute shocker last week. They are a proud club and I’d imagine the faithful at Hoe Park will accept nothing less than a win this week. Paradians are in form though and will be very tough to beat. Having big Ange Pace back in the line-up must give Ivanhoe some confidence. He hasn’t done much in the last two weeks, but make no mistake, he is a gun. If Ivanhoe can isolate him they can win. I reckon they are a chance. And for the sake of getting Paradians off our backs, I hope they win. The hoes by 5 points.

Therry Penola v Glen Eira. Therry have lost 3 in a row, whilst Glen Eira are on the march, with two W’s on the trot. This could really go either way. Therry will be happy to be back at home, but they don’t seem to have a huge home grand advantage as a lot of the other teams do. Bannister is nearly TP’s only avenue to goal, and they need to change this if they are to keep their spot in the four. Glen Eira will battle hard and I think, and hope they have what it takes to knock Therry off. Winning form is good form, hopefully that continues. Glen Eira by 15 points.

Old Westbourne v Yarra Valley. Yarra Valley got us last time, and we are very keen for some retribution this week. Our big name players seem to be coming good at the right time of the year. If we can continue our good form, then we should win. Artic Park has been a fortress over the last few weeks (barring Peninsula); let’s hope that it continues. The warriors by 1 point.

Good call on the Glen Eira game akka. They are certainly on the march and are looking for more scalps. You are right on the dependance TP have on Bannister. No Bannister no TP as was seen on Saturday. This was the first time GE had ever won on that ground.

What a huge week it was in the old chestnut we call D2 Footy.

TP continue their losing streak to make it a complete month without singing the song. Are they finally willing to admit that if Bannister is shut down they are shut down.

Westbourne "they know were coming" warriors continued our good form at Arctic park on the weekend and have both seniors and our our 2's pushing for a finals birth.

Only one month to go boys, the home stretch is upon us. Where do you all see yourselves and possible top 4 predictions??

long time reader, first time writer. TP look to have simply run out of puff, the winner of the OP/OW has a great chance to overhaul them. our coach said from early on that TP's 4-5 praccie matches meant they'd need to stay up for a long time, he doubted they could. IMO a healthy W'town is the only side that can bother Peninsula. be great to have 2 westies in the finals.

Settle down Sasha, what's said in the sheds, stays in the sheds. After promotion our goal was to make the finals, we are in that position if good enough. Peninsula aside, 4-5 sides are locked into the improvers stakes, many twists and turns between now and rd18

I love this confidence!

It's refreshing to read someone saying what they honestly think instead of trying to be politically correct, after all we are just mystery posters on an internet forum. Good work Yellow Sasha keep it up.

As for you Akkadakka, I believe there may be some match fixing investigations going into you as your tips in the past 2 weeks have been freakishly accurate, keep up the good work!

anybody look at the reserves results?
OP put away GE by 157, and also kept them goal-less! What happened GE haha!
a huge effort from the Banyule two's who put away willy in willy by a point!

To seniors,
The finals make up looks like it won't be decided until round 18. will the boys from westbourne make it in? They're only being kept out by Therry's percentage, and there really aren't many huge clashes left in the season. (in rd 18) banyule with have to beat therry, and westbourne will have to get over Williamstown.. aside from fourth spot, the finals contenders look pretty much set..

Some of us bloggers actually have to work :p so just a quick one boys.

Have not had a chance to look at the games for the weekend so anyone game to take on Akka and have a dip at the tips?

At the risk of looking silly against Akka here are my tips:

Banyule Vs Glen Eira
Eltham Vs Therry Penola
Paradians Vs Westbourne
Ivanhoe Vs Willi
Peninsula Vs Yarra Valley

Good Luck to all.

It was actually TP who put GE to the sword last week thebiggestw***er.

If you looked into it a little further you'll see that GE 2's have really struggled this year. Dont have the cattle in depth that some of the other clubs do. Plus I think that Therry are the best 2's team going around in D2. So back off and worry about your own side. Whoever that is.

My predictions for round 15

Banyule Vs Glen Eira (4 goals)
Eltham Vs Therry Penola (2 goals)
Paradians Vs Westbourne (8 goals)
Ivanhoe Vs Willi (11 goals)
Peninsula Vs Yarra Valley (22 goals)

Questions to be answered:

Glen Eria can't beat Banyule.....can they???
Can Therry stop their slide?
Will the winner of West & OP steal 4th place?

Travelled out to R J Brockwell today to see my team do battle, fully expecting to see us go down by 4, 6 or maybe even 8 goals, considering it was 2nd v 8th. What I didn't expect to see was, by one in white, the worst exhibition that I have ever witnessed in well over 50 years of playing, umpiring myself and spectating. Never before have I seen an "umpire" laughing at his own "decisions" and even applauding himself. Before anyone says that this is sour grapes following a loss, please read my 1st sentence again.

Agree, In my 40 years I have never said an umpire did the dirty on a club. We kicked 7 goals to zip in the first quarter and this bloke gave Banyule 6 goals from frees. Clapped and laughed at the crowd to incite them and I was told he attended the Banyule ball that night. Go figure.

Very disappointing result for us on Saturday. Parades come out firing and we didn't react. The big win last week got us a bit ahead of oursleves I think and we stopped doing the things that helped us beat sides like Therry and Banyule.

Although we played a lot better in the second half, the damage was already done and we couldn't come back. Credit goes to Parades, they moved the ball very well and always had numbers behind the ball, and mosy importantly were far more disciplined than us.

Our twos were very good however.........

So you're saying Thursday night after training may throw up some surprises? ;)

Very surprising result Sat, Akka! I for one expected Westbourne to win comfortably...what a costly defeat that may now be! Good luck to Parade in their quest for a top 4 spot.
