so, where all the bentleigh haters now? Dont Worry guys, 8 weeks till pre season, and it all starts again. Thx for the games guys, was good fun, hopefully see some of you boys around. And if anything, gonna miss NikoTeen with his great comments :)

Up early this morning, just to make sure I get to Scammell Reserve in time to see Vegemite in action in his last game...before he is talked out of retirement in Round 9 next year when the House (seniors) are sitting with a 0-8 record.

Anyway, my tips are:

Seniors: Hate to agree with Quasi, but I can't see Bentleigh losing this one. I would love to see them do so, even better if it was in similar style to how they lost to Sth Districts a few years back, but they have too much quality. A five goal haul will ensure James Robertson wins the best on ground medal, while the likes of Magnifico, Fidler and Holmesby will ensure SMS cannot kick the required score to win. Bentleigh by 44 points.

Ressies: It would be a great sendoff to Vegemite for the House to take the Ressies title, but I am expecting Sniper to have a big game for the Demons and boot two goals on his non preferred foot to get his team over the line. Bentleigh by 18 points.

Yep...Bentleigh to do the double.

Here's hoping for something different though.

You know me too well Krusty!!!! Wasn't talked out of retirement in round 8. Just addicted to footy I suppose (better than the smokes I spose Nikko).

Well done to Bentleigh in both the seniors and ressies. Too good for the House in the 2s. Your skills and height proved too much for us. We hoped our hardness might have been enough but it wasn't to be.

Really proud of the way our boys fought back in the 2nd half, especially when we usually play our best footy early. I reckon Bentleigh might have smashed most teams with a 43 point lead at half time.

Well done Snipe - I reckon I know who you are and I reckon we played on each other for a while there - hope you enjoyed / are enjoying the celebrations. I'm pretty sure that Bentleigh would have a pretty healthy respect for the House and its a shame that we won't be having a rematch next year (maybe we should have a praccy match).

Went along to Scammel to watch a "house" mate play in the seconds. Tough conditions but Bentleigh got away in the 2nd quarter. To the Powerhouse teams credit they really fought back.

Thought I'd watch the first quarter of the seniors. WOW what a melee in front of the St Salesian coaching box. Particularly "liked" the courage of number 51 :( punching the Bentleigh player who was being held by two other St Salesian heroes. Must say number 12 packs a punch as well. All this happened on the blind side (umpire) of the main melee. Had to leave & am pleased to find out that the younger fairer side got the chocolates.

bemused (AKA umpy advocate - just for you snipe) puts the cue in the rack . Takes a sip of his last beer on sunday evening and thinks what may have been.

To Bentleigh - congratulations. Too good.

To all the other teams thanks for the banter and good luck next year.

Great game of footy on Saturday with a massive crowd although you would not have thought so in the first half with that bloody cyclone blowing across the ground. Thankfully it subsided and let the teams play it out on their merits. At three quarter time chasing an 11 point defict St Mary’s with the aid of the breeze looked like they would come over the top. Great speech by their coach and that is where it ended. They just ran out of legs and Willsey ran rings around them in the last quarter.
One has to wonder how much that Round 18 loss hurt St Mary’s? The standard of footy was impressive by both teams in difficult conditions. It was a shame that Chris Sharp was not part of it. If anyone ever deserved to be part of the celebration it was Shooter. He has held the club together on the field for many years and some of his performances have been simply breathtaking. He could have easily played at a much higher level and taken the cash but chose to stay loyal. It was great to see Dimma getting involved as well, another great servant for the club who has put everything into the club.

Great day had by all at BFC.

May as well let the cat out of the bag now. Not wanting to be bad winners but I after our last home and away loss to Powerhouse there were some rather disparaging comments made in these parts by certain Powerhouse members about our reserves players.

Terms like soft and chokers were thrown around. Our reserves coach saved these comments for a rather inspiring powerpoint presentation that served as a fair bit of motivation for the ressies on Saturday.

After our club function, we all loaded into a couple of buses for a nightclub in South Melbourne which of course meant we drove right past Powerhouse's home ground. Not sure if anyone was still there but that didn't stop quite a few of our boys from sticking their heads out the window to loudly remind everyone around just who had won the flag that day.

All's fair in love and war and we hold no resentment to you guys, but that's the thing about slagging opponents off on the Internet. It can come back to bite you.

Isn't this the pot calling the kettle black. You guys are the worst off the field. Good luck D2

bad winners and bad losers!!

wouldnt be too proud of that fact....

Congrats on the win, Bemuse Me, but welcome to the Bentleigh 'Poor Winners, Poor Losers, sooky lala Club'.

-anyone who carried on about how crap the House were while they were getting done in round 5 and round 18; and then blames the umpires.
-anyone who was still around but didn't come upstairs for a beer in round 18.
-anyone who was big enough to yell and scream out of a moving bus on Saturday night (not that we heard it anyway).

Pretty sure there are some decent blokes there at Bentleigh, however congratulations Bemuse Me, you have revealed yourself as not one of them.

hey vegemite...dont forget the senior coach and captain.......

Who won the medal for BOG??

I believe that was the hero who was dropping his knees into a bloke for about 10 minutes while he was trying to do his boot lace up in the goalsquare 100 metres from the play. He had an outstanding game racking up about 3 touches and not looking at the ball once. D3 reserves taggers are going to be all the rage next season.

The norm smith medalist was Wills who would have 30+ touches & gave BFC plenty of drive all day so not sure who you are referring to but I think you have the wrong man.

Well done to BFC, a fantastic effort to win dual flags as well as have under 19's play finals.

Should have dropped in for a beer. i think we finished up about 4 - 5 in the morning.

AS I said before - well done Bentleigh - too good

does anybody know if there is a way to view either: vote getters and their amount of votes or round by round votes after tonights b and f?

You are a goose and from the sounds of it have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Good luck to those in line for the D3 B+F tonight I believe Bentleigh has only Willsy in contention (based on invites) but I may be wrong.

Bring on season 2010 :D

Number 20 in the magoos - ask him about it. I reckon I'd know what I was on about seeing as though it was about 3 metres away from where I was standing at the time and he persisted with it for a good 5 minutes.

Winners are grinner!! Suffer in ya jocks!!!

The senior game was terrific with plenty of passion and hardness at the ball...congrats to St Mary's for hanging around as presentations took place, was very admirable...

The reserves wasnt as good of contest with Powerhouse not being able to walk the walk, they relied too heavily on number 70( little robbie nahas looking bloke who was fantastic) and i think #33, with most of their silver foxes refusing to put their heads over the ball. practice what you preach.

Good luck to all in D2 AND D3
