FYI DeeThree, Lee Wells had an excellent season and was awarded his 7th B & F for Monash! So much for an average year.

Don't know what crap you're referring to in regards to Monash's 'expectations and failing miserably'. The Gryphons made great improvement this season after years of just avoiding relegation in the grade.

Wells should be embarassed about winning 7 B&F's at a club of no-hopers, non-trying, uncommitted players who are destined to remain at the lower levels of VAFA Football for many many many years to come.

The whole club should be embarassed that Wells is the only player of any real ability at Monash and he just has to pull on his boots each week to poll votes in the B&F.

It's an indictment on the club that Wells has won so many B&F's.

Even when he wins a B&F, it doesn't mean he deserves a spot in the Competition Team of the Year...it just means he was voted (by his own team) as the best in a bad team of hacks!

For the House, Burnside, Baker and Edwards were the standouts and automatic entries as our B&F votes attest. You could also mount strong arguments for J Whelan, Bahr, Driessen and maybe a few others, but you can't have them all.

While these guys were the standouts, Power House's strength this year towards the end was it's depth within it's 22. Unfortunately, it didn't get us the chocolates last week.

Congratulations to Eltham and good luck against Hawthorn this week.

Have a bit of respect for a guy who goes about his business on the footy field without needing to showboat or talk himself up. He has been a great player in our competition for years and has been a massive headache for opposition players and coaches all that time.

I dont support Monash but when you get yourself 7 best and fairests and numerous selections in league team of the year awards then come and post something on here.

I think the 1's will be a much bigger margin and in the favour of the hawks this weekend.

the 2's are probably about right, eltham 2's look far stronger with all their ring-ins than the power.

Would love to know if coach hollywood has got any surprises instore or is he coming out with the same old tiered setup,

Last Year and this Year he has only played about 7-8 games and all in the 2's as he's been unable to train due to his work commitments.
Simply If you're unable to train you won't get picked in front of a guy who's put in the effort all the way back from Pre season and they deserves that Senior spot (form permitting) more than McClaren does so he's playing 2's.
I don't know how you run things down at UHS but that's how it works at the Turtles? Are you a bit worried about him giving you guys a touch up again are you Nikko?

Not sure what response you're searching for here? but I'm the senior coach and my priority is to that team and getting them up each week, so that's what I was explaining about McClaren and not getting selected in the seniors. As for Reserves selection i'm not in the position to make selection decisions on performance and attitude, discipline etc as I only see about 1 & 1/2 quarters each week so I can't really make judgement on team setup etc from that, all I do is Recommend where certain players pushing for 1's should play & what there roles should be in order to play 1's and the rest is left up to the 2's coach because that's his job! Mine is to get the club up the grades not decide should Harvs (whoever that is?) and Ferns should play 2's or not?
Ferns was OS for 1st half of year and has came back and played since then! As for selection this week? I guess you'll just have to wait and see?

He's definitely a good player that bloke, hes a bit of a freak really. I might make a comback just to play on him.. Havent played all year cos of working girl commitments.

I understand ur point about him not playing 1's, which is more than fair enough, but for blokes to only play 8 games due to "commitments", then magically round finals those "commitments" become very flexible and all of a sudden some poor bloke who has played most of the year gets dropped for the finals campaign, and im sure a 2's bloke whos been round since pre season is giving up his spot, Again. I know how i would feel, thats why im glad i dont make these decisions. Has anyone one here been in that situation before?

If nathan Buckley played 4 games during the year 4 u, didnt train due to work (or laziness, who knows 4 sure), and rocked up the week b4 finals, u would play him, even though its a shyte thing 2 do? And cos it had been done once already, hed expect it every year too so he wouldnt try any harder to make the home and away games/training, knowing he'd still play finals if u made it. My non coaching staff oppinion.

The amount of times I've been told by a player that they'll get me next time....I've always wondered if it was so important to them why didn't they try and get me THIS time....I've never quite worked that one out.
It will never happen so why do we continually bother with it....
