Congrats to Coach Hollywood...he has copped a bagging on this forum throughout the season, but has taken the Turtles up to D2. A great result for him. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but the feeling in the Willy rooms after last week's second semi was that the Hawks may have fired their best shot and would struggle to lift again for the prelim.
No-one at Willy is surprised that Eltham is in the GF. Both Willy v Eltham matches this season were close and hard-fought, so I would expect that the GF will be exactly the same.

First of all, i hate to say i told u so, but whoever tipped Eltham by 40points over Uni in the 2's... well i told u so. Next week should be a great game!

Seeming as i wont have much more of an opportunity after next week, (as much as it pains me to say) To Eltham, congrats on making it up 2 D2 in 2 years, its not an easy thing to do, however i will miss playing/hating/hassling u guys next year. Now that ive said the nice thing, get relegated next year so i can perve on ur hot girlfriends in 2010 (and maybe steal a couple).

Was i that transparent? No seriously, it is a great acheivment, have to acknowlege that, unfortunately Eltham was better than all but one other club this year. I would need to check his name, as i was being held upside down having my gullet stroked like when hypnotising a chicken, While he was playing i was keeping his Gf warm on the Alec Gillion slippery dip in the back corner..

My only regret is that i couldnt play.... and that... i have........ boneitis..errrrgh CRACK!

My number is/was 67 for Hawthorn...
My footy creds are this, if we played next week I would be striving for my 4th senior flag, none of the previous ones were in "D" division...make what you will out of that.

After playing against number #67 from Hawthorn yesterday I can vouch for a very good quality player, champion bloke and also very handy at cricket I believe.

Will there be a chance we will see your footy credentials "FootyFan27"?

seeing as you were at the game, could you tell me why eltham put 16 on the park? didnt touch it and thought he was a hard nut sniping people. he should have gone hard at the ball like some of his teammates so that he wasnt laughed at. 52 could have taken his blinkers off in the 50 and set up a few goals but thankfully he stayed true to his reputation.

uni would have won in the first quarter if nikko was playing. he prob has a better fitness base than the bald john daly lookalikes that magically appeared for the final

There will be more than numbers crunched this coming Sunday. Be prepared for your side to be mauled Sandshoe. The Turtles were extremely focussed in both the 1s and 2s on Sunday. All credit to Hawthorn - they didn't flinch but they just didn't seem to get it together in the 2nd Q on Sunday. Both finals, they kicked badly into the forward line and duly paid the price.

Mate, great game coming up this weekend.
Not sure if Eltham have improved remarkedly or were unmanned when we played them during the year but they were a very different side on Sunday. The second time we played them I thought they were the most undisciplined side I had EVER come across but they surely turned that around -all credit to them.
Wong is clearly the danger for Eltham as he is a player of real quality- a genuine star who could easily play up the grades.
The move to play Dillon on the ball on Sunday was a master stroke as I rated him as a forward and in my opinion was close to BOG on Sunday.
Eltham play with alot of bravaddo and seem to get more and more confident as the game went on. If Willy can match them in that area Eltham might come undone. Having said that they were so disicipled and focused on Saturday so it will take alot to shake them.
Players to watch:
Willy - Wong, Wheeler (outstanding in 2nd semi), Taylor (rate him highly as well - extremely hard nut)
Eltham - Dillon, #32 (able to find space and great finisher), #15, #6 (not sure if he is captain but a great leader)

As I have stated before, there is no luck to relegation or promotion - you are either good enough or you're not. These two teams are clearly good enough and we weren't...

Lads,

obviously as most ppl see it willy should win both games this weekend. i am no different. eltham have improved out of sight in recent weeks and i spose only hollywood could tell us the reason for that. 3-4 weeks ago they seemed injured and depleted and looking to just limp into 4th and out in the first final. i believe that willy win mainly cos of there consistency thru out the field and just seem to have that little bit extra class when it comes to finishing off games. willy by 32 points.

in the ressies willy shall also win but i do expect this to be a much tighter contest. if uhs can control the supply to burgess it should be a much closer match. good to luck to ex wicker boy tenno for willy. willy reserves by 16 points

Let's hope that Coach Hollywood will be silenced on the forum this week as his Turtles get rolled by the very deserving Premiers in Williamstown.

Hollywood and his mates are the most undisciplined arrogant bunch of w***ers this Section has ever seen!

The antics from the coach and his team from the sidelines all season was an embarassment to the league!

As for the magoos, UHSOB should be ashamed that they are playing in the Grand Final after stacking their side with senior players.

My contacts suggest that they gave up on Senior finals many, many, many weeks ago and started stacking their Magoos and qualifying players in preparation for the "big assault" on the Reserves Premiership.

They set their sights very, very high down at Uni High...

Firstly....

The Hawthorn committee met last night in an emergency meeting and all voted to reappoint Peter Tyson as Senior Coach for another 5 year term.

He has brought consistency to the Hacks over the last 8 seasons with them failing again and again in finals series.

The new contract sees Tyson being paid again in pies and hotdogs!

Yesterday was a great day for all lovers of good blokes and good football clubs (which the Hacks are not). Thank you to the good football Gods!

They are the most hated and despised football team in all of the Amateur competition...and with good reason.

They are almost as hated as their namesake in the AFL who are arrogant tools too....

Failed again in the big ones...the Hacks must move quickly to re-sign its current list and ensure that Lauletta and Ogge and Jakomos and Tyson and Aitkin are secured for another straight sets finals debacle next season.

OH, and special mention to that cheating Hacks Reserves umpire, who despite his blatant cheating, could not get his side into the finals either. You sir are a royal tool of the highest order!

My mail on Eltham's form turnaround is that a number of their injured players have come back in dribs and drabs since the last round or two of the regular season, and they're now pretty much at full strength. Whether or not they can get over the line against Willy this weekend is a different question entirely, but it should be a cracker of a game. Does anyone know what the Coburg Oval is like? Is it likely to suit one team over the other?
