Can someone tell me why people continuously post "he better watch out coz next time I'm going to fix him up"???
The amount of times I've been told by a player that they'll get me next time....I've always wondered if it was so important to them why didn't they try and get me THIS time....I've never quite worked that one out.
It will never happen so why do we continually bother with it....

I had something clever to post G A K, but instead, ill post it next time and get u then...

Don't even bother Coach. You don't have to justify anything to anybody on an open forum like this. If Bowman was a good Clubman he wouldn't question selection decisions here. Just tell him to rack off!!

Agreed. What a tool to post this on an open forum. Not for the Coach to answer on here. Make sure you give big Matty Crooks a good run on the ball though Coach all the same.:thumbsu:

absolutely unrelated topic. Look up Carl Williams on facebook, and go to the discussion board about "was it all worth it"

I never realised there were such stupid people in the world. The worst is they think theyre smart. They remind me of St Marys: Gay (not that theres anything wrong with that)

ill be brutally honest here peanut, im not too sure why u decide to keep posting on here. your lame nicknames and pathetic attempt at wit has been bagged constantly and now you've added this rubbish...
in regards to wells, he is without doubt one of the most respected players in the league. probably past his peak now that he's 30 but was more than deserved of winning his 7th B&F this season. the club finished 5th, up from 8th the last 2 yrs. a marked improvement. while the gryphs may never play a grade they're definitely improving.
your an absolute disgrace and once again, can you please tell me why you decide to waste your time posting all your dribble on this page?

Pocketrocket and Footyfan,

You clowns!

Read what I wrote you morons.

I didn't criticise Wells, I criticised the whole Monash CLUB he plays for for not supporting him or challenging him.

It's embarassing that a player, as you state is "past his peak", STILL manages to win the Best and Fairest at his club. It doesn't really say much about the quality of players around him.

I am saying that, as he stands head and shoulders above all other players at the club, the Best and fairest doesn't carry enough weight for him to be included in the Team of the Year.

Who are you two, his Personal Manager and his boyfriend?

If you two are any indication of the quality of people around Monash, the Indians are in big trouble!

Does that bloke that looks like Roland Rochecelli still play at Monash?

To win seven B&F's is a massive acheivement....
If what you say is correct....then even bigger kudos to him for being able to get himself up every year to play at his best considering he (apparantly) does not have the cattle around him.

Having said that, just because you win the B&F at your club, doesn't give you automatic selection in the team of the year.....would Melbourne's B&F winner make the All Australian side this year??

Dee Three

Considering you are commenting on D3 sides it's obvious that your team is a D3 team also....Correct me if i'm wrong??

Which makes your comments even more stupid!!

Your bagging a team that has been playing D3 for years and you support a D3 side???? Sounds pretty smart to me!! Surely you have to look in the mirror and see whats happening in your own patch!!

If Wells can keep a bunch of so called 'no hopers' in D3 for that long then he must be superhuman and deserves Team of the Year selection every year!! no questions asked.

What does that say about guys at your club who are still playing D3? I'd hate to have you as a supporter of my club - blokes like you bring a bad name to all clubs!!

ok s..t for brains ill have another go.
you said 'wells had an average year'. others commented that he won his 7th best & fairest which highlights how good his form was this year.
you then argue that it can't mean he actually played well but instead that everyone else in the club is terrible. no evidence or anything is offered with that statement. you might have seen 1 or 2 gryhon games, but still you go on like an expert. its a pitiful argument. in fact you're a pitiful human.
you name yourself after a league which you bag the crap out of for being a low standard. its fitting.
try not to drool all over the keyboard again when u spend 2 hours writing your reply.

The Gasometer's award for forum-poster of the season goes to Nikko.

Keep up the good work, mate. Have thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts, which have referenced (if memory serves me correct) everything from the Simpsons, female wrestling, the Wiggles, Peter Pan, "Alias", the Billygoats gruff, and anything in between !!

Winning a Best and Fairest in a Premership Year is what you should be measured on.

7 Best and Fairests in a team that has never finished higher than 5th doesn't count for much in my books.

Win one in a good team...then come and talk to me.

Monash should be ashamed.....and embarassed.

Someone should be embarassed and it is not Monash.

Review - Semi's

We have far more pressing matters of the leather to analyse and I must admit that I got last week's first semi all wrong. It seems Eltham have returned to the form that made them the second best team in the comp earlier in the year. Well done to all at Turtleland.

Powerhouse will rue missed opportunity but can still be heartened by a far more competitive season. They should look forward to 09' with much anticipation.

Willy were able to win with a workman-like performance over the Hawks. A sign of a very good team as they never really hit top gear yet did not allow the potent Hawthorn forward line to score with any haste. Clear Flag favourites.

Prelim Preview

On paper this looks a foregone conclusion. Hawks easily, but football is a funny game that can throw up an upset or two when it really counts. Hawthorn Amateurs are gaining a reputation for failing in September and I'm sure Coach Hollywood and the boys will be letting them know this in no uncertain terms come Saturday. It is a question of whether the Turtles have the depth and skill acquisition to beat the Hawks. I am one pundit who believes they can. The forecast of rain will only strengthen their resolve. Hawthorn need a star game from Richard Ogge. He is arguably the best forward in the section and can win this on his own boot if allowed any freedom. Will The Turtles try some rough-house tactics on key Hawthorn personnel? They would be mad if they didn't, but make sure that they do not lose their head in the process.

If Wet - Eltham by 16

If Dry, Eltham by 4 (although the Hawks could shit it in really)

Hawthorn to go out in straight sets yet again and the Turtles to gain double promotion.

Good luck to both

Quasi

You are a dead set tool Dee Three...
Try winning one first then you may be in a position to comment....

thought id get in here first...
congrats to eltham for their victory today, the double promotion is a great effort!
hawthorn.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Well done to the hawks for finally getting promoted.....

"Whats this, a late video? Well dont just stand there and put it into the JVC VCR"

Hawks get knocked out in straight sets... again!!!

Outcoached by Hollywood and out played all over the park.

Well done to the Eltham boys, and good luck in D2. What a great result it is for those that dont like the long drives, out go Willy and Eltham in come St Marys and Bentleigh!

My second ever post, and how sweet it is!!
As my name indicates, usually i wouldnt bring emotion into a post... but...

Congratulations to hawthorn for being out played, out muscled and totally embarrased today V the turtles! Enjoy D3.... again!

By no means will the turtles under estimate the willy team.
Great respect for the brand of footy they play...
should be a ringa ding dinga..

I've been a bit quiet in the second half of the year, but can't help myself here.

Hawthorn go out in straight sets again, this time to a team who had the 'chokers' reputation in D4 for a while!

Unfortunately for Monash fans, I think DeeThree will be here again next year to continue his assault on Lee Wells after Hawthorns failed finals campain.

Does anyone know Hawthorns finals record over the past 10 years?

2009 D3 Premiership Odds

Team Premiership
Power House $ 7.00
Elsternwick $ 7.00
Monash Gryphons $ 8.00
West Brunswick $ 8.00
Hawthorn $ 9.00
Bentleigh $ 9.50
St. John's OC $ 12.00
UHS-VU $ 12.00
St. Mary's / Salesian $ 15.00
St. Francis Xavier $ 21.00
Albert Park $ 26.00

PH - Good Finish to the Year and won enough games to prove they were real contenders. Rumours have already started Edwards will be playing elsewhere.
Elternwick - D Smith needs to play
MG - Won 9, as good as Power House at times but needs to be more consistant. Another step up required
WB - Unlucky to go down, always a contender in D3
Hawthorn - Might finish 1-2 but can't win finals
Bentleigh - Haven't been in D3 for a while, but have been competitive and played finals in D2 for many years. Beat St. Mary's by 100 in Round 18
St. John's - All went pear shaped half way through this year for the JOC's. Need to regroup and get some players for depth. Can Cachsia go on?
UHS - Were good in patches but will need to improve to win more games next year. May have a few more premiership retirements after the old firm kept them up for a year
St. Mary's - Only won 2 in 08, could be battling the double drop after the merge seems to have failed.
St Francis - Favorites this week, will improve and could be the dark horse next year with a young side
Albert Park - Big challenge this week and bigger one next year to stay up if they do after being only good this year.

I agree with all of the above, out played, out muscled, out thought....
Congratulations to Eltham who were are far, far, better team on the day...

To FootyFan27, the time has come...
My number is/was 67 for Hawthorn...
My footy creds are this, if we played next week I would be striving for my 4th senior flag, none of the previous ones were in "D" division...make what you will out of that.
I take my hat of to my team mates who tried as hard as they could but we couldn't get the chocolates this time...

These are my last words, if you choose to post here and bag those with an opinion, please have something to back it up with...

Good luck to Willy and Eltham, well deserved...

Firstly....

The Hawthorn committee met last night in an emergency meeting and all voted to reappoint Peter Tyson as Senior Coach for another 5 year term.

He has brought consistency to the Hacks over the last 8 seasons with them failing again and again in finals series.

The new contract sees Tyson being paid again in pies and hotdogs!

Yesterday was a great day for all lovers of good blokes and good football clubs (which the Hacks are not). Thank you to the good football Gods!

They are the most hated and despised football team in all of the Amateur competition...and with good reason.

They are almost as hated as their namesake in the AFL who are arrogant tools too....

Failed again in the big ones...the Hacks must move quickly to re-sign its current list and ensure that Lauletta and Ogge and Jakomos and Tyson and Aitkin are secured for another straight sets finals debacle next season.

OH, and special mention to that cheating Hacks Reserves umpire, who despite his blatant cheating, could not get his side into the finals either. You sir are a royal tool of the highest order!

Couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of tossers.

(by the way, rooster1979...I am NOT a card carrying member from the Hacks!)

A bit of doggas trivia from last night to start the day:

Who kicked 5 goals in the Eltham vs Hawthorn Match?

Well that would be Hawthorn.

Went down to watch a mate play yesterday, never seen either side before..pretty disappopinted with Hawthorn. Hardly gave a yelp.

Agree with the others - Eltham appeared too committed from the start and too strong. Difficult conditions at times - fair breeze and slippery in the 2nd quarter after the rain. Hawthorn struggled to get any flow. Eltham just too hard at it.

Don't know anything about Willy, so hard to guage for next week. Good luck anywayTurtles.
