Hollands - Dimma could keep him but decided not to. Reasons? Probably his sh**t attitude, not delivered on his talent, drug issue, cap issue down the track as we can't keep all those high picks.

Saad - 2nd round pick was not peanuts.Yes, it could be better but if you read reasons, Suns prioritised his family and cultural issues - going home to his community.
With the Rioli trade im sure all list managers will be looking to the saad trade as the template of value and its almost like for like Rioli is a year older but a better player when requesting a trade and more credentials and CONTRACTED
Houston would be another option but looks like he only wants victoria

Tigers trade Rioli 29 39 41 47 & F3 Get 12 17 20 & 26
Suns trade 12 20 26 get rioli 47 & 56
Lions trade 17 & 56 get 29 39 41 & F3
Give F3 to the Suns instead

No Chance

Pick #6 is there for the taking for Richmond
Pick #17 is very similar with Richmond the main suitor

why would we complicate the deal only to end up worse

Both we did not want to keep. Salary dump.

BTW, Scrimshaw had a great season finally. He could be the best from players we got rid of it.
Scrimshaw did play well, I hear what you are saying about us not wanting them, I still think we through them away, Hollands looks a player, it was a bad deal IMO

Richmond give Rioli, 29
GC give pick 6, pick 12 or 20
Depends if Richmond pay some of Rioli’s contract.
B Smith coming off ACL & Bulldogs trying to free up salary cap space makes a huge difference in negotiations.
No comparison!

You can't pretend wanting them while getting rid of them for whatever reason. We always had too many top talent like GWS.

Hollands has talent but does not impress me. Maybe that's just me. Some Carlton supporters are turning on him.

Anyway, let's see how trade period goes. I think you will be disappointed.

Or is just raising decent arguments why some of these crap suggestions for Rioli won't fly and Oppo fans getting their noses put out of place.
Just humor these weagles mate
they are petrified matty clarke is giving up #3 in the Baker trade

Cant wait for their melts if that happens

Did Dimma really say Suns don't need first round draft picks on 360 tonight? 🤔

Yeah, said they have enough young talent already and wants to bring in established players to the list. He said they had 4 high picks last year so this year would like to bring in some targeted established players.

Easy to read that Pick 6 is confirmed. 🤣

Saad was the covid draft. It’s probably the least valuable picks had ever been.

Dan Rioli is staying at the Tigers if pick #6 isn't involved.

This is the bit that a lot of people aren't taking into account.

Its not all around what value there is, but what value the selling club sees in a trade. A pick or so that will be mid teens is not going to get the deal done, its as simple as that.

Whilst Bolton and Baker have genuine reasons to be traded, Rioli wants to go for either success or money, its not family related. The Tigers won't just bend over, they will need to be overpaid for his services.

If GC don't come to the table with Pick 6, then Dan will likely come back to Richmond. He's not one to sulk, he will without doubt put his head down and work just as hard as he always has done.

There is no compassionate grounds for this trade, its a desire, Richmond need to cede nothing on this one.

Out of the 3 major trades for our club this off-season this is the 1 we dig out heels on I suspect. IMO though, the Suns already know that and generally get deals done quickly and both side already have the picks / TPP needed to get it done. I reckon this one will get done relatively quickly and most opposition fans in here will get their noses pushed out by the trade value.

I’m almost certain you will get 6 and pay part of his salary, it’s a win win, you get an elite pick that we don’t want as we don’t need another midfielder, you also get to meet your minimum spend of the cap, Suns get Rioli which helps get Dusty, we build a bit of a war chest of cash with Dan part paid and Luko, Day, Casbolt, Ellis and potentially Atkins off the books.

No worries look forward to seeing dan at richmond next year.
Most supporters (and I'm sure the club) would be happy to keep him.

Its not a firesale that some seem to think it is.

Its true that the club are interested in rebuilding as quickly as possible, but to do that, it means TOP draft picks, not mid teens and 20's. I'm certain the club is only happy at trading these guys IF we get those top picks.

Dan isn't the type to throw his toys out of the cot if he doesn't get what he wants. He'll come back to the club and put in just like he always has done if Pick 6 isn't part of the trade.

Sorry Pick #6 is for daniel Rioli contracted for 3 years
Asam Saad was similar pick without salary

If you want contribution thats extra's and Gold Coast know exactly how much salary contribution costs
Now with Luko leaving they may not require that and thats fine pick #6 is fine

Saad is/was a better player, was a year younger, and the trade was Saad and 48 for Pick 8.
