Posters want only a SOS statue at AO for services rendered for the AFC. We should also consider Stocker here as well. Might need to erect one up for him.

So, we traded pick 19 for 28 and 19????
I am staggered by the mentality of Carlton.
Criticising Bolton for not moving Carlton’s list forward is like criticising a reception teacher because her class is no more advanced this year than her class three years ago!
How is Bolton meant to coach and implement a game plan when there are so many list changes? Each year more than a third of the was changed and he needed to drill the foundations back into the new recruits, before moving everyone forward.
We traded pick 24 in 2018 and a future 5th rounder to GWS for Carlton’s 2019 second (currently 19) and 2018 pick 28 (which we used for will hamill at 30).So, we traded pick 19 for 28 and 19????

Its funny that you should say it's all on SOS.Bolton didnt have any support for him when Neil Craig left.
He never had a say on which players to bring in.
he was always SOS's puppet. Unfortunately he paid the price and will never coach at senior level again unless in an interim capacity.
When we offered Carlton are leftover scraps like Lyon etc, Carlton should have been grateful and appreciative. It was a fair deal which left them with egg on their faces.
Ultimately I blame SOS for the demise of Bolton, the 1st rounder swaps was really the beginning of death by a 1000 cuts.

If you watch the trade video Bolton barely gets a word in, nor is he sitting at the main table. A stark contrast to the GC and Saints videos where the respective coaches seem deeply involved in events.
Perhaps that is due to the editing, but I have my doubts.
SOS seems to have to much say for a list manager. We only hear from Reid during trade time and he leaves it to Haggis and the recruiting team to recruit the players he wants on draft day. SOS seems to do it all.
The upshot for GWS though was that they got Ian Hill who they liked AND it meant we did not have the opportunity to place a bid on Briggs (their academy ruck) that we may have been after so it meant they had later points to secure him on any bid after us. So whilst it was a steep price to pay, GWS got 2 players they really wanted last yearWhen not factoring in academy selections and compensation picks, yes

Neil Craig left Carlton in a great place, just like he left Essendon and Melbourne. Success just follows him around...
AND us. I'm positive we are still fighting the 'values' he instilled, including;Neil Craig left Carlton in a great place, just like he left Essendon and Melbourne. Success just follows him around...
And there are people out there saying Reidy is no good!We traded pick 24 in 2018 and a future 5th rounder to GWS for Carlton’s 2019 second (currently 19) and 2018 pick 28 (which we used for will hamill at 30).
AN ABSOLUTE STEAL!

The pick #19 we traded to Carlton (for Stocker) was #16 we got from Melb from the Lever trade and ended up as #19 from Academy bid matching. So, we traded pick 19 for 28 and 19????

It also gave us some fun times later in the draft - we got Carlton's pick 64 (AND their next year's 5th rounder), immediately before Geelong so we could get Sholl from right under Geelong's nose (they had the pick immediately after Carlton's). The look on Scott's face was delightful at the time.
Is there footage of this?
I think GWS' pick was 23 if not factoring those in so pick 19 got pick 19 + 23 so it made the trade even more nuts.....but they probably didn't think Carlton would have finish bottom in consecutive years, hence it made this trade very good for us (similar to the Gibbs trade) all because they finished last. When not factoring in academy selections and compensation picks, yes
To be fair a lot of people have left those clubs worse off.Neil Craig left Carlton in a great place, just like he left Essendon and Melbourne. Success just follows him around...
