A player that has made a big move up the draft rankings particularly since the championships is Paul Ahern from Vic Metro. Obviously I'd much rather a powerful inside mid like Christian Petracca or Angus Brayshaw with our first pick but being realistic I think Ahern will be available, I think De Goey will be and Pickett possibly.

Some reckon "mock" drafts I've read have listed Ahern as going to West Coast and it's obvious why. Is a damaging small fwd/ mid who would suit our first rounds needs ideally I think. Not as strong an inside game yet but clever around the goals, we do already have Karpany and Newman** who can fulfill that role in 2015 but for depth Ahern is a good choice.

Pickett I don't see as being as damaging inside 50 and more of an outside winger or HBF with electric speed.

De Goey is an interesting one and we could take him from under North's nose here (reports are they are VERY interested). He goes in as probably the best inside mid of the 3 players I've named here but with the possibility of Waterman and Adamson as a Category B rookie it will depend on what the recruiters want. Very unique player.

Where do people think Abbott will go in the draft ? Surely he is a late pick or rookie .

Also if we have a second pick will jarrod Garrett be around still ?
I would much rather take Garrett with our second and pick up a bigger more genuine mid with out first than Pickett . Can a team afford a small forward without a defensive game these days ?
Garrett looks more of a mid with better endurance and better ball winning ability .
If we got Jarod garlett to be in the mix with Cripps , Karpany and maginness our HFF would be lightning quick with all being able to rotate through the midfield . It would complement our talls very well

We might be a sneaky chance of landing Jeff Garlett too

The more we win and the further we go down the draft order, the more I'm willing to consider Pickett.

We can mathematically finish 7th in which case pick 12 seems a bit more palatable a cost than pick 6 or so.

Just did the ladder predictor with us winning our last three and we end up 7th playing the (r)poo-boys in melbourne. What a troll that would be!

Had that too. Either them or Port would be the best side to draw in the first week.

Losing to Norf though is the worst thing in footy for me.

The delistings are getting harder to pick now that McGinnity, Hill and Butler may be safe.

If we're going to fit in say, 3 picks (8, 28, 46), upgrade Sinclair and DFA Jeff Garlett we need 3 additional cuts to Glass and Cox.

Brennan, Wilson & Smith?

That seems to look okay but there is less wiggle room than there was before. Could we squeeze out one more and get a project KPF/Ruck in Cripps late in the draft? (IMO an area of relative need).

There are still a bunch of possibilities, Waters may retire, Mcginnity is not quite yet safe imo along with Carter and Mcinnes.

Also carter, McInnes and Tunbridge. Still plenty of options

What makes de goey unique? Read that a few times, not sure what it means.

I think your right , Laverde, Brayshaw, Petracca, will be gone , one off pickett or Ahern will be available

If Pickett is too risky inside top 10 and Waterman slides to 3rd pick then a big yes to Jarrod Garlett at pick 2 ..

Lachie Weller, who's one of my preferences, will probably come into play if we get pick 10 onwards.
Though he might be snatched up by GC if we finish above them.

Terrific prospect and if his available should be closely considered. Like you said I think GCS will beat us to the punch if they have a pick before us but.
