Just read through a draft ranking article on the AFL app, it had Dominic Sheed at number 17.

So is he not good enough for a top 10 pick,
Is it a mistake to take him as our first pick.

for what it's worth it had Mathew Scharenberg at pick 6. starting to have second thoughts on Sheed, who else should we get.

Also...

Hello Eagles board,

I apologise for my intrusion into this thread, truth be told it was not my intention. In fact, it was not me at all. I turned my back for 1 second and thorne89 decided to start posting under my account.

I would never ask for Garrick Weedon. I am all about Ryan Neetes.

Yours sincerely,

Noobz0r.

You are such a silly.

'Cause cam twoomey doesn't rate sheed in the top 10, isn't a reason to not pick him.

One of your brothers, is he? :D

Hope the club considers Freeman and Lennon at 6. I know nothing at all about this draft but they seem like different types that we need. Freeman sounds remarkably similar to Dangerfield in his draft year, Danger had done basically nothing playing off half back averaging on 15 touches at TAC level but was quick and powerful and had potential.
I'd agree with Freeman, but isn't Lennon a tall defender ? Do we need another tall player , I would have thought that a smaller, goalkicking forward pocket was more of a priority.

Gaff has the following strengths.

- his tank is elite from day dot.
- he reads the play and runs where he's needed
- he can run, carry, and use it effectively.

That's a really nice natural package which only a moron would think is commonplace in a draftee. Its not particularly spectacular to watch, but 15+ beep test players with good football brains kill the opposition over 4 quarters.

At an absolute minimum he's a Chad Fletcher or Michael Braun, but given how immediately he produced big numbers, he genuinely could be as good as Cousins- people forget Cousins was for a long time a fairly one paced, fairly outside midfielder who racked up big possession counts and was susceptible to hard tags.

#4 draft pick mate.....he cannot tackle.

Lennon's a forward flanker I'm pretty sure. Definitely not a KPD

I disagree. A lower draft number only increases your chance of getting an AFL-worthy player, not their 'well roundedness'.

Gaff should not be traded because he fails to live up to a number. He should be traded if he has no role to play in our team - which is most certainly not the case.

Would you trade the good AFL player we have in Gaff for essentially a gamble on another player in the same role?

watch any WCE games in 2013....all our mids get pushed over. Look what Freo and Syd mids did to us. We are soft in that area. Much improvement is needed and endurance running is not the answer.

...ive been to a few training days and stood next to Masto, Shuey, Gaff, Pridda......all top blokes, all professional.....but they are tiny. We need some guys built like Judd and Fyfe, Mundy etc

Gaff reads the game well and can run all day. Hes not explosively fast, he can only kick off one foot, he wont contest a pack mark, and he cannot tackle. Our recruiting has been so one dimensional for years. All our mids are small, and not very quick. Only Shuey and Cripps have explosive accelleration, and Cripps doesnt have any poise.

Okay . Do we need a forward flanker as much as we need a speedy midfielder (preferably one who can hit the target by foot) or a goal sneak small forward ? I would say no.

I guess the idea is that he can move into the midfield eventually, like a lot of mids have recently. I haven't seen him play and know nothing about him, but I guess people have something like Stevie J in mind when they rate him.

Robin Nahas' manager just on trade radio, says we have "inquired" about him, dont mind this as i think his asking price would be quite low.

Also confirmed scooter never contemplated moving back to Vic

yuk dont want nahas. What's the point of replacing list cloggers with more list cloggers.

edit; you can also replace nahas with lucas in the above sentence.

Yep at least some strength conditioning , what Fyfe did
