I wish I could be bothered digging up all the predraft discussion of Dangerfield but he sounds eerily similar to Freeman. IIRC Dangerfield had only averaged 18 touches a game in TAC and only really played off half back and was considered abit of a reach at 10 at the time. Freeman has different short comings but similar raw attributes and style.

Lennon looks the goods. Would be really happy to snare him at 11. Good height and an accurate kick / can play in multi-positions; what is there not to like?

I had a premonition that we will pick up the name we read out at pick 11, at pick 11.
I Thought for a second in that quote that they will say West coast pick 11, then our recruiter will say pick 11 we pick- pick 11. Lol

What players will be around the second pick? You'd hope there would be some good players as Vozzo traded out of the top 10 just to get a pick in the thirties.

Who really knows but you'd have to say at a guess, players that I'd be interesting in that may still be around;

Dayle Garlett
Nick Robertson
Mitch Honeychurch
Zach Merrett
Isaiah Miller
Eli Templeton
Dwayne Wilson (pushing it)
Zak Jones (pushing it)
Darcy Hourigan
Steven Edwards

This is a good article about the Adelaide recruiters thoughts on Dangerfield pre-draft: http://www.afc.com.au/news/2013-06-05/recruiting-files-dangerfield

Personally I don't like the comparison withPre-draft Dangerfield was a much rawer prospect - bottom aged when he was drafted - 17 yo and about a month away from being ineligible (Freeman is about 10 months older at the same point) and as you mentioned primarily played primarily as a defender in the U18 Championships and at TAC Cup level in 2007, but was projected to play midfield in the future due to his strength, explosiveness and contested ball winning ability.

Freeman is tidier with his disposal, but Dangerfield was much more explosive off the mark and also much quicker over distance - maybe their 20m sprint times was about the same, but on-field Dangerfield ability to use his pace to break open the play stood out much more, whereas Freeman looks quick, but doesn't seem to be able to have the same impact as Dangerfield does with his line-breaking ability. I don't think Freeman will be considered in the top bracket of speedsters at AFL level as Dangerfield is.

Physically they are quite different too, with Dangerfield being taller, bigger and stronger through the body than Freeman, so don't see them being similar players. To me Freeman is eerily similar in style and attributes to Shuey at the same stage.

Hey guys. Here is something I did in photoshop.

Is Dayle Garlett really any chance? He was smoking weed, cigarettes and drinking like a maniac last year. Nobody changes in the space of 12 months. I remember hearing an interview from the Swan Districts coach a month or so ago saying the West Australian teams hadn't shown any interest in Garlett despite Vozzo mentioning him in an interview.

Not a fan of Freeman. Might have pace but can't kick and doesn't look like a midfielder in the making. Shuey was an elite kick and dual sided. Dangerfield as wceblog mentioned was much more explosive, younger and much more raw.

Would rather Sheed, Acres, Lennon, Taylor.

Too much talent too pass up on for mine.
Amen brother and the kicking skills fit Simpson's penchant as well.

My wants

First pick
Acres alternative Sheed or Lennon

Second Pick
Cripps alternative Marsh or Wilson

Third round
Robertson alternative Nicholas Bourke

Fourth Round
Darcy Cameron alternative Stephen Edwards

Rookie
Thomas Shannan

No Garlett? You can't dispute the kid can play, forgetting the peripheral crap. ;)

I'm really liking the look of Nicholas Bourke as a second rounder if Cripps/Robertson are both gone. Versatile, big bodied and very fast.

Freeman looks good , kicks a few helicopters but they find there mark !

WCE cant lose if we have Sheed / Acres / Lennon or even Freeman to choose at pick 11 , I can see why we traded # 6 . Would have to take Freeman if we had a chance which I doubt we will .
