After ingesting all the info (funny how there's not a lot of footage of all these prospects, I remember a lot of resources available to view these a few years ago, not sure why media tends to hide all the info...) I think that other than the usual suspects (Sheed, Acres, Lennon, Salem, Bontompelli, KK, Dumont) that are possibilities at our pick, I believe Dunstan will be a dark horse choice here. He's another of those very highly rated 17 y.o.'s who just seems to have been over-analysed out of contention in his last year of juniors. Been playing for WWT seniors, has a ready body, can play midfield and HFF. Doubt he'd be in contention for any of the picks ahead of us.

Can't wait to see Quigley's profiles for the draft, always interesting.

Does Quigley still do his profiles/phantom? Dont recall he did one last year after unfair criticism

AFL website has Lennon at 189cms...that is a pretty good size for a midfield role but there are queries on weather he could become a full time mid.
Last 5 TAC (I think) Cup matches played midfield and averaged 28 touches.

Also don't get the knocks on Freeman here, looks OK to move, says he models his game on Shuey and you can really see that. Wouldn't take him ahead of Lennon or Sheed, but he looks OK.

He has proven he's a capable midfielder.
He's just not the best pick for a midfielder available at 11 going on exposed form.
Lennon's assets are his marking and his kicking. Theoretically some sacrifice would have to occur for him to play as a pure mid.
Although there are exceptions like Fyfe.

Well the hates on Freeman....I think he deserve a chance first

I don't think there's "hate".
Simply that comparisons to Judd and Dangerfield are not appropriate at this point and raise expectations too high.
Comparisons to Shuey seem fair, though I prefer Shuey's contest awareness and kicking.
Both of these aspects are important for the role Freeman is to play and both need work.

Aha, there's the missing piece of the puzzle.

We'll have picks 11, 31, 43 and 49 then.

Smart move.

I see a future for him but for the the meantime being on the Rookie list with the impending case coming up its the best thing for the club to do.

No other club will take a risk with him with his case coming up.

Would still rather we have kept our 3rd round compensation pick for a stronger/deeper draft next year.

Hopefully we pick up someone good with 49! Anyone have any ideas on who we'd be looking at?

I hope we take Charlie Cameron with 49.
