Those extra few cm's on Sheed could be enough to get him over the line.
And to think Bontempelli is 194cm now is crazy!

Ben Lennon hasn't been spoken about much on this board, but seems to rated the best prospect at our pick by most people. Thoughts on him? Midfield potential?

Won the clean hands test and can find the pill.

Problem is we don't need another medium/tall forward. Which is what he is at the moment.

Hmm that's what a lot of big bodied midfielders were originally though.

Clean hands are definitely what we need in the middle. Going to be interesting to see how draft day pans out. Doesn't seem to be a clear cut choice for us.

Leaning towards Acres over Sheed personally.

If Acres didn't have his shoulder problems and played the full year he would probably be the clear cut choice for most people. Acres has better tools but Sheed has been better for longer and is a safer selection - and WCE are typically conservative with their high picks.

WCE should target pace

so pick 6- Nathan Freeman

Pick 24 Jonathon Marsh

If the problem has been identified as lack of pace through the midfield. Then WCE should fix it now

Except Marsh isn't a midfielder and might not ever develop into one at AFL level. Huge potential but risky.

We should just do what we have always done, target who we deem is the BEST player in the position we need to fill, regardless of size and pace.

Freo had the fastest midfielder in the AFL on their list in Andrew Walker......what sort of impact did he have?

I'd like to target a pure footballer. Sheed seems to be that.

Masten isn't kicking arse. Has a good engine and racks up uncontested footy. Would be a fringe starting midfielder at best - in all four prelim finals teams

Masten is actually very good in the guts at winning contested ball an is a fierce tackler for a guy his size. We just need to play him in the guts more. Personally a big fan of Masto as of second half of 2012 and all of 2013. He was (with Emac and JK) a shining light in a dissapointing season for us.

One thing that's forgotten in our quest for big bodied mids that we compare to Fyfe, Barlow, and mundy, is that neither of those three are renowned for their pace. They're just damn good footballers with good nous and decision making. With sheed growing to 187 and hopefully more, plus the fact he seems to have similar pace as those three says to me...sheed.

Sheed has a receding hairline = Judd-like

Acres has dodgy shoulders = Judd-like

What are the chances Acres will slide to our 24 given the lack of games he has played this season?? We may, with some luck be able to get both of them.
