What are the chances Acres will slide to our 24 given the lack of games he has played this season?? We may, with some luck be able to get both of them.

No chance he makes it to our 2nd round pick. There are clubs that rate him higher than Sheed and the draftniks at afl.com.au also rate him higher than Sheed.

No chance, will go top 15 which is why we need to do 6, 24 and something for 10 and 11 where we will hopefully be able to pick up both Sheed and Acres
What makes you think collingwood would be stupid enough to do that trade in a flat draft (hard to seperate the players from 5 to 20). The pies aren't in the business of supporting others clubs needs ands wants, be realistic .

Wouldn't it make us all spew if Acres slid to pick 24, but we'd crumbled in our trading and already used that pick on Yeo?

Also would be spewing if Marsh or Garlett were still available. More reason for WCE to play hardball with Brisbane and retain our 2nd round pick.

Well you can keep walker and ill take Judd/danger field like pace. :p

I agree explosive pace (quick twitch fibre) type guys is great for us, but it shouldn't be at the expense of a guy who might actually have better skills and be a better footballer. If we can find one we think is both then i'm all for it.

We aren't taking Garlett no matter if he's available for our 5th rounder. Just prepare for the fact he'll be playing elsewhere next season.

Agreed. No way in hell should we give Brisbane 24. If we do Yeo better turn into a gun.

For team planning we hit a Pacey freeman this year and next year we get waterman

We should just do what we have always done, target who we deem is the BEST player in the position we need to fill, regardless of size and pace.

Freo had the fastest midfielder in the AFL on their list in Andrew Walker......what sort of impact did he have?

I'd like to target a pure footballer. Sheed seems to be that.

James Walker

I like freemans tools also but his tac form and champs does not put him ahead of the like of sheed IMO. He's very much a pick on potential rather then proven form.

Freeman really fits our needs the most as far as pace and skills.

God there are so many mids in the top 20 that suit our needs though.
Time to sell sell Rosa, sheppard and smith and 24
to get another pick in top 20 and yeo. Surely its doable.
Doesn't work like that unfortunately

How do Waterman and Sheed compare?
Well to my knowledge sheed was dominant at colts level, but was playing seniors this year prior to champs.

Freeman was not even the best performed mid (or second) this year for sandy at tac level. I do like him, but I don't view him as a sure thing. That being said if we did have two picks in the first round, I would probably take him with one as he does have some good upside.

I hope visitors are welcome. :D

I just thought I'd share my thoughts on the two WA boys after reading the past few pages. I don't think Acres will drop to #24!!

From my understanding, the Suns are quite keen on Acres and have spoken to him quite a lot over the combine. It wouldn't surprise me to see us use pick #5 on him, given we don't have many (if any) of his type on our list.

If we do pass on Acres at #5, I think the Eagles should definitely get him at #6. :) Sheed has more of a chance to be there at your second round than Acres does.

So we end up going really deep into the draft?

That's if we don't flog our 2nd pick to your feline neighbours for Yeo... :/
