So many dreamers on here,
I have no doubt 95% of you are basing your recruitment assessments on YouTube videos,
Unless you've watched like 10+ games and actually had chats with these players, please understand that all this nonsense is miles off :)
Pfft. Like I even watched a YouTube video

Hang on a second.. Doesn't Cockatoo only have a single YouTube video?

Along with the fact we have Waterman locked in, we can go for cockatoo.

IMO if cockatoo played the whole season even half as good in that game, people would have him up there with Petracca.

He is an awesome player, he has shown proof of what he can do. For me it's more a matter if he is he right character to work hard at a career maintaining that. All reports give him glowing endorsements in regards to his work rate and his commitment to his studies.

The more I go back and watch Pickett I realize that cockatoo offers what Pickett does and more.

And if his injuries are in check then sign him up

Yeah because watching 10+ games and having a chit chat with all these prospects is something you should really consider before making a random post on a random footy forum o_O

So we're no chance but the Bulldogs are a possibility with pick 26?

Anyhow I agree that gws are the most likely to take him
sorry he said that meaning before they traded. I was meaning as an indicator he will go below 10 and could be up more around 4 to 6. depending on what pick gws use.

Cockatoo is a pot shot for even the most knowledgable recruiter, he's been unseen all year. But my suggestion for cockatoo was under no illusion that its hi risk/hi reward based on there not being any evidence. I was referring to the others speaking like they've watched the TAC cup all year and spoken to our board.

and cockatoo has been watched since at least 15s where he dominated. but then had 2 yrs of injuries. has come back late in the year and showed what hes capable of.

every player is a pot shot, what would any of us know about the draft if their wasn't for video clips on youtube, that's all we have got to go off.
Cockatoo has the best youtube clip.
tell ya what if I was a young draftee id try to make up the most awesome highlight collection of myself and post it on youtube. Good way to up your ranks in the draft.

I would stop, drop, cover and roll before grabbing Laverde if he miraculously managed to slide another spot

Are there any genuinely decent KPP prospects beyond the second round? Specifically rucks and KPD's.

At the moment I have my hopes up for a Cockatoo and Miller double in the first two rounds but don't want to take 4 mids.

General assessment is that the ruck stocks are on the weaker side of the draft - Durdin and Wright are the stand-outs because the can go KPP and ruck. So not the year to be wanting to go for an early pick in pure ruck stocks.

This is a brilliant draft for KPD. There are a good stock with 10 likely to go in the first 2 rounds and I have placed them in two bunches
Likely first round - Moore, Lever, Goddard, Durdin, Marchbank and Langford
Likely second/early third- Jackson, Nielson, Vickers-Willis and McDonald

In addition there are good numbers in the later stages of the draft and I may have not have the positions for the second group 100% but indicative. If you need a KPD, nice year to be going to the well.

If we want to bank a ruckman, I would not be opposed of using our rookie pick on Frampton.

Your reaction would not be a solo act - but no way can I see him lasting to even 10 let alone be available at 11. I managed to watch him in the U18's and he was class. Highlights will show some skills but what the highlights do not show is how he managed to be in the right place/right time. He reads the play very well. I personally believe the top 3 of Petrecca/Brayshaw/Laverde are very close. Suggest we put the jury to rest for 4 years and come back to revisit their development.

Each year sees a surprise and no point in speculating which club or who slides. At 11, we need to be open minded at 11.

if he`s actually gone before pick 11 then talk of Pickett will cease but until this become official , well speculation will continue up to draft day ..

AFL website reporting that Wright might slide to past pick 10.

Would we take him if he was available? Clearly more talented than pick 11. I guess worst case he goes home and we extract a good pick out of a Vic team in two years. Not ideal that's for sure - but I'm willing to back the club in to keep him.

Would we back him as a replacement for JK? Would certainly mean that McGovern plays back and Darling loses bulk to play more of a rangey HFF/Wing role.

I guess it comes down to whether WCE see him as primarily a ruck or primarily a forward. If they see him as a forward, then I say take him if available. To talented to pass up and could be massive up forward with JK in two years.

I could easily see Collingwood picking Laverde

The recognised orthodoxy on here is that the Pies will pick a mid but I'm not so sure. To be honest I see Collingwood picking a KPP. They are severely deficient of KPP talent outside of Reid and Cloke.

Jesse White will be traded or delisted in two years, Lynch has retired. Brown is injury prone and Frost is raw. That to me that says they could use a Hugh Goddard or Lever type who would both be available at 5. Or even Wright if he slides.

Moreover, they have added Scharenberg (who i think is a similar type to Laverde), Freeman and Adams last year. Thats a fair amount of up and coming mid/flanker depth if you ask me.

I would take best mid option still and let Wright slide on by which is what basically 5 or 6 previous teams have done .

I think GEELONG may pick WRIGHT if hes there at 10 .

There are a couple of McKenzies likely to go second round too iirc.

I`d actually agree because I can see even though they have got Moore at pk 9 Collingwood being tempted by talls Wright ,Durdin ,Lever,Goddard .

Collingwood have the pick that can change the draft for teams by going mids or tall at pick 5.

I'd definitely take Wright with 11. Reckon he's going to be a jet.
