Really a pointless conversation as he wont be available at 69. If he were available at 32, no doubt we'd take himSo the answer to his question would be a resounding yes. If garlett was available at 69 you'd take him over Abbott
Jonenb its way to early to know with the KPP in next years draft.
By the very nature of them needing size it makes any discussion just so speculative as so much growth and gaining co-ordination is yet to be done by these kids. Just take Tommy Barrass as an example he went from 186 at State 16's and then continued to grow right up till the draft where he actually grew to 194 cm and 2 of those cm growth occurred between the combine and being measured in at WC.
Mids on the other hand start to draw comment during and after the State 16's.
The AFL recruiter that I have spoken with all say that no real meaningful assessment and comparison can be done with any KPP group until April /May of their draft year.
Personally I like Blakely, but there doesn't seem to be much support for him here. I am not surprised that he is moving up the rankings. A genuine midfielder too who gets a lot of the ball and has proven himself at league level. I wouldn't be unhappy picking him up at #11, he won't be there at #32.Knightmare has moved Blakely up to 7 in his power rankings, thoughts on him for our first pick?

If Garlett was available at 69 would you take him over abbot , then would abbot would be available as a rookie ?
cockatoo it is.Cockatoo it is!
I don't see why we would be interested in Blakely with our first if we've already got a similar player and "one of the best mids in the draft" in Waterman.
How would drafting Blakely effect our vanilla midfield in any way shape or form? He's big bodied, like Waterman, but what other damaging traits could he possibly bring? He's not a line breaker nor does he have match winning ability or X factor. Average speed, not polished. Just a work horse and yet another midfielder to sit behind Priddis in the food chain.
I will point out however i don't know a great deal about him apart from what i've read and watched so all that could be bollocks ^
Is there no one at the priddis thread to argue with ?If Waterman was one of the best mids in the draft then someone would have bid on him. The fact no one did speaks volumes.
At some point someone will overtake Priddis. Just because Ebert, Shuey, Masten etc all failed doesn't mean someone else can't succeed.

Please don't try derail this thread

nek minnit back page of the west just waitI think that the Pickett family would have every right to talk the talk , Jarrod would get positive feedback from 18 clubs he is a definite first rounder , I would be surprised if club drafting agents would tell Pickett what they thought of all the other draft prospects . the drafting agents probably say similar things to a dozen or so draft prospects that are first round picks . The Picketts rightly would feel pleased as punch and happy to tell people at the shops how good things are ... If it was as clear cut it would be back page of the West .
