your bet is jarrods bet too. out of all the clubs they really tried to sell the club to him. even know his choice is gold coast. he knows gws is where he will go. GWS may even take him at 4 to keep him away from collingwood at 5.

Cockatoo/Duggin + Rainbow would be a dream come true.

Rainbow is the player i want the most with our second rounder. His kicking skills are sublime and could become another Hurn but with more versatility.

Chuck Gov Jnr in as a rookie or a third rounder and i'd be laughing.

My thinking too. Duggan comes across as a Simmo type of player, with smarts, elite kicking skills and versatility. Aswell, he is younger than the others with a lot of scope for improvement yet.

Yeah, it's looking more and more likely that Pickett won't be around at 11. May as well take him out of the poll.

My bet is that GWS pick him up at 6 or 7 after taking the best KPP available at 4.

plenty of time to go guys - heard a rumour Pickett was caught in a sleeping bag .... with Jack Darling!

As other posters have said Liam Duggan could be a likely option for West Coast , has the skills and leadership , taking him out of Victoria could be the only negative for picking Duggan .

Fremantle could have a drafting option KPP or Duggan at 13 .

Plenty of good options.

I like the look of Duggan because he's got good skills, but I did find this paragraph funny in the context of our discussions about West Coast's recent recruiting tendencies:

AFL.com said:
In fact, there really aren't too many faults against him and what he doesn't have in blistering speed (he runs a 3.1-second 20-metre sprint) he makes up for in smarts. He might not have a big point of difference, but a club will get a very rounded prospect.

You can almost lock him in. I'm sure he is a better prospect than Sheppard, but otherwise this year is looking pretty 2009-like!

Haha not very long ago a number of people on here were claiming that Pickett at 11 was a reach and that he wouldn't be best available...

Funny what a couple of media articles can do.

I still believe that. I don't base my opinions on the media. Pickett is attractive to us because we lack that kind of player. In terms of pure talent there will be better players available. Just because another team is going to reach for him in front of us doesn't change that.

Duggan seems a safe bet what X factor does he possess?
His disposal by foot seems to be his stand out feature but I don't think he has an x-factor as such, just a well rounded player.

I'd be surprised if he wasn't high on our list of potential recruits

I'm not sure why most posters think he now won't be available at our pick.

There have been no credible news suggesting otherwise.

Still want Cockatoo for his explosiveness, size, and willingness to take the game on.

Naitanui Shuey Cockatoo Yeo is a dynamite center square combo and will win us a Premiership one day.

That being said I would be stoked with Duggan and about 5 other players.

Duggan sounds a lot like Gaff
I think he will play a similar role to Masten and Gaff. But yeah probably a bit less outside as mentioned.

How much he improves our team would depend on how much he can develop his inside game.

Pickett is a good fit for GWS so it would be no surprise at all if they take him. hungrytiger has also said GWS have told Pickett they will be drafting him based on a conversation he's had with Pickett who he knows. Always hard to know for sure on an Internet forum if someone is legit but for now I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and see what happens on draft day

If he gets past GWS then it's quite possible that Gold Coast (weller) and Geelong (someone tall) will pass on Pickett leaving him for us

Cal two meh has tweeted there some talk that degoey might go top 5 so there might still be some surprises yet

Well the AFL has him 'ranked' at #5, once you take out Heeney and Moore. IIRC he's been considered in the top 10 on their list for most of the year, but various phantoms had him sliding to us due to the WA factor.

I also think the fact that GWS, who need a player like him, will be more likely to take him now that they have three picks in the top 10. Geelong also need a player like him, and you'd think they would take him if Weller is not available.
