Didak: Continue the slide or bounce back to form?

From memory Malthouse tried this with him a bit last year.

I reckon Buckley will be wanting him to be playing full games most of the time though.

Yes but he was injured last year. Malthouse never used the sub until 3/4 time, he was very conservative.

I expect Buckley may use the sub rule with a little more of an open mind, and that may include using players like Dids as a genuine weapon off the bench from time to time, rather than using the bench as aplace to hide him.

We'll wait and see.

Despite it not really working last year I agree that if fit a role coming of the bench as an impact half forward/wing could be ideal for him. Can forgive him for one lousy injury riddled year but he must lift this year. The Pies have quality youngsters coming and don't have to wait/hope for a Didak return to form.

looks like he might struggle. He was pretty down on form all year struggling with injury. He needs a strong finish to the preseason and he might bounce back.

Didnt this thread appear last year but replace Didak with Davis...
and the year before that with Ball.

Seriously whats the point of arguing with people who clearly have it out for the Pies. Who cares if Didak's got form issues hes reputation and skill will mean every team out there will have to put effort into him. He's one of the very few players that can destroy a team in a matter of minutes. Besides if Didak fails theres still plenty of others you'll have to worry about.

If he's fit then he will be a much better player than he was in 2011. He'll play in the midfield becasue he is creative but he'll play in shortish bursts with forward time as well. I can't see why you would play him as a defender. A loose half back maybe but it is a waste to have his attacking flair stifled by defensive responsibility. In any case, Collingwood have more than enough half backs.

Brian Lake will be another interesting one to watch for many of the same reasons.
A better question would be if Dale Morris is able to get up and about. He's out until round 5 and a limited preseason so he's not going to get a whole lot of game time until late in the year.

Shame about the injury but has done the full pre season up until this point, so hopefully the fitness base remains.
As Geoff Walsh was saying this morning on SEN in realtion to Didak, players cannot afford to have a significant hole in their preseason. He really gave the impression that it wouldn't be a fruitful year for Didak.

Adductor injury keeping him out for the next month?

Yep, time to hang it up. F**k! We saw what an injury interrupted pre-season did for him last year, and he turned just turned 29.

Interested to here what Pie fans who announced that Collingwoods apparent superier fitness programme and facilities where the reason they were apparenlty so advanced think. Seems to be a hell of a lot of injuries at Collingwood the last two years and not many collision type ones.

If he can go to Arizona and possibly do another months preseason training and a few games in the magoos then maybe he could get match fit, unlike last year where we just stuck him in the game as soon as we could, he may be able to revilatise himself. Otherwise, his season is not going to be pretty.
