Div 3 Southern football league 2016

For the record, when Doveton went up to div 2 the seniors lost only turned over a couple of players, won 6 games ( I think) and were very competitive all year. Last year there was a couple more move on with retirement and to play a higher standard. A group of the seniors travelled overseas and missed the year and we lost 2 or 3 more to serious injury. Div 2 exposed a lack of depth as a result.

This year we get a few back from injury and a few back from travelling. No shame in that.

The club enquired about staying up in div 2 to remove the bye but the league squashed it. The playing group would have been the same in either division.

Nothing wrong with what happened to doveton the top half of div 2 is so far about div 3 it's a joke.... Losing players or not anyone would struggle...

It's also good to see Ashwood wheel out Dale Carrol, now there's a blast from the past maybe 80+ goals this year.

Hahahahahahaah your kidding yourself 60plus goals.
Be lucky to kick 30goals.
Doveton eagles have there old guys back think the key word is old. They wont be as good as what everyone thinks.
You might be right 60 + is a bit rich so is i'll deduct 25% for ego,25% for ability and 25% because he's a pest leave me with 15 goals.

It's amazing to see so many clubs inability to recruit new blood to the club, they tend to keep re hashing the same old same old, player leaves, player comes back because the club re chases them, poor recruiting on the clubs part.

I'm tipping it's not easy to recruit new players to the worst division in the worst metro league in Victoria...

I'm tipping if you use those lines to sell your club/comp you won't get any new players negative people like you don't inspire potential recruits,It's called being lazy it's all to hard get off your @rse and look around.

Thanks for the toughts and unlike others who just shoot down posters having a crack I offer a couple of points

I think Sth Yarra will struggle - obviously coach walking out indicates unrest and heard few players moving on
Agree with Hallam - watch out
Moorabbin - think they may be ok as coach good and if keep key players on their tight ground will win enough games
Sandown - Will be more competitive with a few coming back and Ashwood will struggle with them gone and Winberg retired.
Dandenong - My info is they may not even field a 2nds side at this stage - maybe another Southern Dragons - we hope not.
CPL - stuffed. I think they are feeling the effects of Lucas and the old brigade. Lucas really put a 'hole in the bowel of a sinking ship' - in hindsight post grand final thuggery he should have retired and walked away from the club as some good people have deserted that club due to his onfield antics and poor Omar last year was on a hiding to nothing. CLub should have had a bigger spine and let Lucas go and told Dalton to FO when he crawled back to CPL. Too many weak leaders and managers down there and to Barnsey's credit may have been reason he did not accept the Life Membership as they should have won at least one flag in last 2 years with that side of Mouritz, etc etc. Yeah, too many big ego's at CPL unfortunately to build a club with the right culture. All well meaning but lack the professionalism.

I agree so many people trying to be heroes on here we are here to talk football !!!!
I didn't here that about south Yarra throw my last post out about them
That's sad about Dandenong but to many ferals down there and no wonder no
One wants
To play for them

wow...what a crock of s#@t.

Barnesy didnt accept the life membership because he felt it should be reserved for servants who have provided 10 years or more service to the club, like how most other clubs award it, he had only served 3. The committee just wanted to award him with our highest honour with the all work he has put into the club, they just jumped the gun a bit and didn't consult him before awarding it to him.

It wasn't because he felt the club had 'weak leaders'....to even have that as an opinion is just laughable.

Also, i would like to know is who deserted us due to lucos onfield antics? You seem to have the inside word, what are their names?

CPL recorded 45 on the track on their first night back at training Mid-November, twice as many as the first session last year. They are doing alright

Its not going to be hard for hallam to improve they have been near the bottom every year.
My mail is moorabin will go back wards as they have lost a few.
Cpl -will be right up there again this year. Heard they have signed a few quality players
Mount- will have 1 game plan this year get it to fatboy slim.
Ashwood- by all reports heard have lost a few players will be around the mark again.
Sandown-heard throwing some coin around but also heard lost a few big names.
Dandy- hahahaha joke of a club
Lyndale- by the reports on here have signed a few players could push the top 5.
My boys the falcons- years biggest improver will finish on top 2 games clear of the eagles.
Dovey- recruiting old players who cant hack div 2

Your reply is a crock as well - always in denial.

So lack of response to these items obviously then you agree

1) Omar on hiding to nothing last year especially with Lucas playing on

2) club should have told Dalton to FO when he wanted to crawl back

3) committee have to many rampant egos running around

This time last year a mutiny occurred on the committee where some great club personal where thrown out. Newbies realised it was all to hard and fell away for Barnsey to step in. Come on don't tell us it was a bed of roses at the club in 2015 with all that crap.

The people putting Barnse up should have known the 10 year ruling surely, if not, why not??

Onfield the team was punctured with not gaining a result in grand final due to incident with Lucas on Beecroft. Players may not have left but their passion drop none more than Mouritz who was 2nd class. Highlight was final v Ashwood with no Winberg - pathetic (but I'm sure you will say otherwise)

I can tell you 100 per cent sth yarra coach was sacked!! I am not sure about ins and outs with players but the coach story is rubbish
